Some developers are very experienced with Minesweeper games. It's hard to come up with innovations in that area, and this developer doesn’t seem to be trying too hard in that regard. It is, however, trying to bring us quality Minesweeper games, and that's more than enough.

Visually, Mining Madness is one of the more impressive Minesweeper games, and the theme is about a certain mad prospector that goes by the name of Billy-Boyd Skeeter. He has a mine full of gold, and you’ll be uncovering nuggets as you go. Unfortunately, he’s also managed to leave dynamite sticks in a few places, and he’s forgotten where exactly they are. Hit one, and the game round will be over!

The playing field of Mining Madness has a 5x5 setup, and you can win up to 997x your bet in a single round. The least that you can play for is £0.10, but high rollers can stake as much as £200. The theoretical RTP of Mining Madness is juicy, always clocking in somewhere between 96.59% and 97.32%, depending on your bet settings and strategy.

Mining Madness Gameplay and Features

Before you start a game round, you always have to choose your desired bet and also how many dynamites there should be on the playing field. The combination of these factors adjusts the game’s volatility and the overall risk-to-reward ratio. It’s this bit that sets Minesweeper games apart from most other online games, and we do like how many options are on offer here.

Once you begin a game round, you’ll have to start picking tiles one-by-one. If you reveal a dynamite, the game round will end, and you’ll have to walk away without a win. Revealing a golden nugget, on the other hand, will improve your win, and you’ll get to decide between collecting it and continuing the play. It all continues until you either collect your payout, reveal a dynamite, or find all available golden nuggets.

Notably, Mining Madness has the traditional TreasureBoost feature, which increases your chances of landing a coin win whenever the TreasureBoost icon is lit up. This feature isn’t available in all bet settings, however.

Review Summary

Although Mining Madness doesn’t bring anything new to the Minesweeper formula, its excellent visuals and good mathematical model provide us with one of the finest Minesweeper experiences out there. It’s not only a great entry point for newcomers, but it’s also a game that all Minesweeper veterans should check out!
