CASINOS WITH Midnight Gold in Great Britain

Midnight Gold Review
If it wasn't for the masked robber showing off his guns in the game intro, you could mistake Midnight Gold for a peaceful stroll along a countryside road in Baroque times. The base game depicts the calm before the storm, with an idyllic scenery and a pleasant soundtrack. This builds anticipation towards the bonus round, where night has fallen and you can take home some serious loot. But let's not get ahead of ourselves and start with the basics.
You can play with bet levels between €0.1 and €100 per spin in Midnight Gold slot, catering to all sorts of players. The game plays out on a 5x3 grid with 20 paylines, and you win by landing 3 to 5 matching symbols across at least one payline starting from the leftmost reel. An aristocratic couple serves as the 2 top-tier symbols, followed by jewelry and the usual royal symbols. Landing 5 of a kind wins award 1x and 25x your stake, and you can also collect cash prizes of up to 250x via a special Deliver symbol that appears only on reel 5.
Near-miss bonus round triggers can award mystery prizes, and you get a choice between 2 different bonus rounds when you land 3 scatters in view. You can either go with full-reel stacked wilds or persistent roaming wilds, and both wild types can be assigned a random multiplier of up to x20 at random times. You get a multiplier on each free spin in the super bonus round, which triggers more rarely.
While the 96.2 % top-tier RTP and the 20,000x max win are solid enough, keep in mind that lower RTP settings are possible and the max win hit frequency is a below-average 1 in 500,000,000 spins. With a high volatility rating of 7 out of 10, Midnight Gold can be a thrilling but unpredictable ride. Expect some swings in your bankroll as you chase those big wins.
Midnight Gold Features
You get cash collection, instant mystery prizes, and 2 unique bonus rounds to choose from in Midnight Gold slot, so let’s dive in!
Deliver Feature
You can land Cash Bag symbols worth 2x and 15x your stake on reels 1 to 4, and these are collected and awarded if you also land a Deliver symbol on reel 5. In addition, Treasure Chest symbols worth 25x to 250x your stake can appear on reel 1, and these trigger a respin of the rightmost reel if there is no Deliver symbol to collect them.
Mystery Instant Wins
When you land a near-miss bonus round trigger, a Mystery Instant Win may be awarded. At least one of the present scatter symbols will then be upgraded with a value of 5x to 20x your stake. The total prize is summed up and awarded.
Midnight Gold Free Spins
The Bonus Round triggers from landing 3 scatters on reels 1, 3, and 5, awarding 10 free spins with the choice of 2 different wild symbols. You can go with Stacked Wilds or Roaming Wilds, and you win +1 extra free spin per wild that appears in either of the features.
Stacked wilds fill the reel they appear on while roaming wilds move to a new position per free spin. A random multiplier of x2, x3, x5, x10, or x20 can be awarded at random times in both features, boosting wild wins accordingly.
Super Free Spins
The Super Bonus Round triggers when the scatter on reel 5 is golden. The only difference from the regular free spin features is that you’re guaranteed a random multiplier per free spin.
Theme & Graphics
Midnight Gold plays out in full daylight, with a semi-transparent grid set against a Baroque-era country lane backdrop. A pleasant flute soundtrack adds to the atmosphere, with green hills stretching into the distance. The charming masked robber in the intro hints at the stagecoach robbery theme, with a mix of bandits and aristocrats on the reels. Day turns to midnight in the bonus round, where you can score the biggest loot.

Our Verdict
A game like Midnight Gold game could have used a bit more storytelling woven into the gameplay. You get an intro hinting at a robbery theme, but you never actually get to see the heist. You're left to fill in the blanks, and it's unclear whether you should sympathize with the robbers or the aristocratic couple presumably being robbed. The choice is yours, just like when the bonus round triggers.
It's also a bit odd that the masked robber in the intro is male, while the masked robber on both bonus round wild symbols is female. It would have made more sense if the stacked wilds were male and the persistent roaming wilds were female, or vice versa, but I guess these are minor details in the grand scheme of things. The male robber pops up during big wins and the respin feature though, so he’s not completely forgotten.
The scenery is easy on the eyes, and the soundtrack is enjoyable, but I never really felt the tension you usually get from a good robbery slot. It’s almost as if an idyllic Baroque game was created, only to throw in some robbers in a last-minute decision. You can pick up decent treasure prizes in the base game, but this feature isn't exactly groundbreaking. The near-miss bonus round scatter prizes are a bit more innovative, but the prizes are too low to truly get excited about.
The bonus rounds come with tried-and-true wild features, and having a choice is always welcome. I prefer the full-reel stacked wilds, as I often got too few roaming wilds to do any damage. The random wild multiplier isn't that engaging either, as you often get a solid multiplier but no wild win to boost. A progressive multiplier for these wilds would have been a better choice, and the super bonus round triggers too rarely to be worth chasing. Overall, Midnight Gold comes across as a half-hearted attempt that doesn’t quite deliver the goods.
