Some studios seem to be stuck in the past. They have new releases, but most don’t feel fresh or innovative. It sometimes seems that they are fine with repeating the same formulas. With Mega Rich, this looks about right at first glance, though there are some twists in the gameplay department at the very least. As for the playing field, though, it’s completely classic with its 5 reels, 3 rows and 25 paylines.

The theme is all about glamor and riches, which is nothing new when it comes to online slot gaming. Look, we get it – everyone wants to get a taste of those big wins, and it’s certainly nice to have diamonds and expensive cars on the reels. The production values are only average here, however, and the package definitely doesn’t look like a new online slot.

The mathematical model of Mega Rich has a medium-high volatility level with a solid 33.60% hit frequency. In other words, you’ll get a win once per 3 spins on average, which is more than fine. The jackpot is then juicy at 7,018x your bet, which is a good sum to aim for. The least that you always have to play for is £0.10, while those who want to play for more can raise the ante to up to £25 per spin. Unfortunately, the slot’s theoretical RTP clocks in at 95.40%, which is well below average.

There are 11 pay symbols in total in Mega Rich, which is a bit more than you’d expect. There are 6 low pays that show card ranks from Nines to Aces, for starters. These pay up to 1x your bet for a full combination, which is nothing exciting. The high pays are better, featuring cheques, cash, watches, and two glamorous characters. The gentleman symbol is the top-paying one, and you’ll get 5x your bet for a five-of-kind combination.

In addition to pay symbols, there are also four special symbols in Mega Rich - Car Wilds, Boat Wilds, Plane Wilds, and Mansion Scatters. All three Wilds can substitute for other symbols to complete winning combinations, while Mansion Scatters are there to trigger the Free Spins feature.

Now – whenever a Wild lands and completes a winning combination, it will get a win multiplier. You can even get more Wilds involved this way – in that case, the multipliers will multiply each other, which can indeed lead to massive payout boosts. This, however, works only if you get different types of Wilds involved. And how big the win multipliers can be?

Well, Car Wilds can get win multipliers of 1x, 2x, 3x, and 5x. Boat Wilds, on the other hand, can get win multipliers of 2x, 4x, 8x, and 10x. Finally, Plane Wilds can get win multipliers of 3x, 5x, 10x, and 20x!

Review Summary

Well, while we do like the concept of Wilds with random win multipliers, we aren’t impressed by the rest of the Mega Rich package. The graphics are completely average, the theoretical RTP is disappointing, and it just all altogether feels like something we’ve seen many times before. Unless you’re big on these “rich” slots, you should feel free to give this one a pass.
