Mega Heist Review
Prison break stories and heist movies are always captivating. It's a smart idea to combine these two themes into a single slot, which is what this game does. The main game begins in prison, which isn't too thrilling, but just 2 bonus scatters can start a riot and an escape attempt.
The Escape Bonus can lead to the Mega Heist bonus, where big wins are possible. It involves 3 increasingly valuable heist jobs. You start by robbing a Gas Station, then a Club, and finally a bank for up to 15,000x the stake. The 3D visuals make it engaging, and this is a solid and innovative release.
Game Features
Wins are achieved by landing matching symbols from left to right on adjacent reels, on the same row, or the row above or below. You win between 6 and 20 x your stake for 5 of a kind with the top symbols, and the Wild symbol can appear anywhere to substitute for other symbols.
2 bonus symbols trigger the Escape Bonus, causing a prison riot where up to 4 robbers try to escape. They move from left to right, each with a bet multiplier or bonus symbol. If they reach the Safe Zone on the right, their prizes are added to the total win.
Cops may appear on the top reel, arresting a robber if he's on the same row. The feature ends when no robbers are left, and you upgrade to the Mega Heist Bonus if a robber with a bonus symbol reaches the Safe Zone. You can get up to 3 extra bonus symbols this way, which gives you more robbers.
The Mega Heist Bonus Round can also be triggered from the base game, if you land 3, 4, or 5 bonus symbols. This gives you 10, 15, or 30 robbers. The Mega Heist feature has 3 levels. The max win potential increases per level, up to 150x your stake in the Gas Station level, up to 1,500x in the Club level, and up to 15,000x your stake in the Bank level.
The Robbers move from left to right, carrying bet multiplier prizes. They can also pick up power-up symbols that appear on the grid, and they must reach the Safe Zone to add their prize to the total win. Robbers are recycled once they reach the safe zone.
Each bet multiplier prize added to the total win decreases the total amount left in the Bank. When the bank meter reaches zero you advance to the next level. Coppers can arrest robbers, and the feature ends when your robber pool is empty.
The bank meter decreases when robbers pick up multiplier power-ups, and across all 3 levels you can get the following power-up symbols:
- Multiplier - increases the robber’s prize by x2, x3, x5, or x10.
- Extra Robbers - adds 1, 2, 3, or 5 extra robbers to the pool.
- Police uniform - disguises the robber so he cannot be arrested.
- Motorbike - carries 1 or 2 robbers directly to the safe zone.
- Bus - carries up to 8 robbers directly to the safe zone.
On a final note, eligible players can use the Bonus Buy feature. You can pay 150x your stake for the Mega Heist Bonus, starting you off with 10, 15, or 30 robbers. The bonus buy RTP increases to 96.5 %.
The 200 Spins Game Experience
There's a brief look at the base game, before purchasing the Mega Heist Bonus. We got the minimum of 3 triggering scatters, which gave us 10 starting robbers.
Review Summary
This game comes across as exciting. Breaking out of prison is only the first step to riches. The “prison life” base game isn't too exciting, but the Mega Heist Bonus makes up for it. Buying the bonus may be tempting.
We enjoyed getting the robbers across the finish line. We also like leveling up to more daring heists, but you need to reach Bank level 3 for a big score. With up to 15,000x possible in that level, the overall max win is 16,591x your stake. This game should be well-received.
