Magic Tricks Review

The cup-and-balls magic trick is apparently the oldest one in the book, and it’s been around for more than 2,000 years. The first modern magician was known as ‘The Sleight of Hand Man’, and he died in 1682. Magic Tricks is filled to the brim with classic magic acts, and each symbol performs its own unique act when encircled by the Magic Rings feature. It comes about on a regular basis in the base game, but then you get only 1 ring per spin.

The symbol inside the ring will expand to cover the entire row, and this guarantees a 5 of a kind win. Things are taken up several notches when the bonus round triggers, as you can then get up to 4 Magic Rings on any given spin. The feature triggers more frequently in the bonus round as well, and this is how you can close in on the 10,500x potential. Magic Tricks is a fairly engaging magic slot, but its volatile nature can take a toll on your bankroll.

The premium symbols pay between 4 and 20 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the golden bank notes wallet Wild symbol pays 20x your stake for 5 of a kind as well. It does not pay for less than that though, but wilds step in for any pay symbol to help complete and/or improve line wins. The wild cannot substitute for scatter and magic ring symbols, just to be clear.

The Magic Rings feature triggers on a regular basis in the base game, and you will then get a magic ring placed over a random position as the spin stops. The symbol inside the magic ring will then expand to cover its full row, which guarantees a 5 of a kind win. This is done with a magic act animation that’s tailor-suited to the symbol in question.

The Bonus Round triggers when you land at least 3 scatters in view, and 3 scatters awards 6 free spins. You get +2 additional free spins on top of that per additional triggering scatter, and scatters can also land inside rings to spread across the full row. In the bonus round you can get up to 4 Magic Rings that expand symbols to fill the entire row at the same time. You can also win up to 40 extra spins via this feature, and the rings always land on different rows.

Review Summary

We have seen magic slots before from this developer, and you can always count on something extraordinary with the visuals to make the experience more engaging. The base game is broken up by the Magic Rings feature on a regular basis, but it’s only too bad that you seemingly can get only 1 ring at the same time in the main game. This was not stated too clearly in the paytable/info section of the game, but we never saw more than 1 ring after more than 500 spins at least.

The magic act animations you get per symbol are kind of neat, and the fact that the symbols expand horizontally guarantees a 5 of a kind win each time. The bonus round supposedly comes with more frequent magic rings, and it’s also more exciting when you can get up to 4 rings at the same time. This can lead to solid payouts up to 10,500x your stake, but the bonus round doesn't come around all that often (which is the case in many games).
