Madame Destiny Megaways Review
The clairvoyant gypsy lady attempts a bigger and bolder comeback in this Megaways version of the original Madame Destiny. The choice is interesting, as the first game wasn’t really all that successful. Perhaps the “magic” Megaways juice will do the trick, but then again, perhaps not. The strangely low potential will most likely already raise a red flag in most experienced players' minds.
Visually, the game has clearly been given somewhat of an overhaul, and you will benefit from a horizontal top reel above the 4 middle reels. The base game is a rather tedious affair however, but non-UK players can skip it altogether and purchase the bonus round. There is an Ante bet that doubles your free spins chances, but the bonus round itself is a hit or miss even before it gets started. Land a 2x multiplier on the bonus wheel, and you might as well rage quit before it even plays out.
Madame Destiny Megaways Features
Every win triggers the Tumble feature (also called Cascading Reels or Avalanche Wins), and this means that all winning symbols are removed from the reels. The gaps are then filled up by a fresh batch of symbols dropping from above. This process will continue as long as you keep winning, and it can lead to a series of wins for the price of a single spin.
Just like in the original game, the Madame Destiny Wild will double all winnings she is a part of. She will also step in for all regular pay symbols to help you form winning combinations. The game’s scatter is the crystal ball, and landing 3, 4, 5 or 6 anywhere awards a scatter win of 5x, 10x, 20x or 100x, respectively.
At least 3 scatters anywhere in sight is enough to trigger the bonus round, and you will then be taken to a massive bonus wheel. The wheel spins to determine your number of free spins between 5 and 12, as well as your multiplier between 2x and 25x. Keep in mind that this is not a progressive multiplier, like so many other Megaways games offer.
You can retrigger the bonus round indefinitely by landing 3 scatters on a free spin. This again triggers the bonus wheel, and you will get a new number of spins and multiplier level. Non-UK players can purchase the bonus round for 100x, and this raises the RTP slightly, from 96.56 % to 96.67 %.
Finally, you also have the Ante bet option. Turn this on to double your chances of triggering the bonus round organically. However, it will cost you 25 % more per spin, but it’s probably a good idea if you can’t buy the free spins feature.
The 200 Spins Madame Destiny Megaways Experience
We grinded along in the base game for a while, and enough to land a few decent tumble wins, including one with the 2x wild. However, we decided to buy the bonus round after not too long, and you can see how it went around 1 minute into the highlights video below. We can reveal that we got a 15x multiplier, but you need to hit the play button to see how much we won.
Review Summary
Trying to revive a game that wasn’t much of success in its original form. With that being said, they have made some rather strange choices. If you’re going to pimp up a less-than-attractive title, it’s not enough to slap on a Megaways label and hope for the best.
The 5,000x potential is way lower than what most Megaways games offer, and the base game lacks inspiration. The occasional 2x wild win is not enough to keep you going, and especially not when the bonus round comes with such uncertainty. You might land on a 2x multiplier, and it will not increase per win like it does in countless competitor games. There is just no compelling reason for players to prefer this game in an ocean of better alternatives.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
All wild wins are doubled | Most Megaways titles come with at least twice the potential |
Bonus round with up to 12 spins and 25x multiplier | The bonus round multiplier is not progressive |
High volatility and 5,000x max win potential |
If you appreciate Madame Destiny Megaways you should also try:
Madame Destiny - is an obvious choice if you liked the game at hand. It comes with 5 reels and 10 win ways, and the 2x wild is active here also. The bonus round comes with a 3x multiplier, and the possibility of indefinite retriggers.
Morgana Megaways - is a shining example of how to do a fortune teller slot right. The mystery symbols keep the base game interesting, but it’s really all about the thrill-ride bonus round here. You will collect symbols chronologically from 9’s on up, and each level-up turns the collected symbol wild. You also get extra free spins and instant cash prizes, and the feature can go on for a good while.
Magic Merlin Megaways - is Storm Gaming’s wizard-theme Megaways debut, and it comes with cascading wins, a mystery card feature and a bonus round with an unlimited progressive multiplier. You can win up to 50,000x your stake here, which is solid for a medium volatile game.
