Mad Cars Review
You’re taken into a post-apocalyptic world in this high-octane game, and you get to meet 4 freaky steampunk characters dressed up in armors made from different car parts. The 5x6 grid is set in a dusty abandoned industrial complex of some kind, and the place is now being used for car racing of the rather daredevilish kind.
Cars keep cropping up at the bottom of the grid at random times in the base game, and they move and are upgraded via the modifiers from the top Boost Reel. They need to make it to the top to pay the prize though, and you get 5 cars at the same time in the bonus round. Persistent modifiers are also introduced in the feature, which makes it easier to close in on the solid 25,000x potential.
Mad Cars Slot Features
The low-value symbols all pay 5x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, while the character premium symbols pay between 20x and 100x for the same. There are no wild symbols in this game, but you get plenty of features to compensate as we shall see below.
Instant Prize Car symbols come with cash prizes between 1x and 100x, and they appear on the bottom row only. You can have multiple cars at the same time, and they move towards the top of the grid via different Boost Reel symbols. You win the prize of the car that crosses the top row finish line first, and this removes all cars in view.
The Boost Reel is a special bonus position that sits above each regular reel, and the bonus symbols on display in this reel varies per base game spin. Blank spaces can also land, which does nothing, and here’s an overview of what you get from this top reel:
- Multipliers - boosts the prize value of cars by x2 to x100.
- Gas - moves the same-reel car forward by 1 to 6 positions.
- Multiplier & Gas Combo - does both of the above.
- Survivor - adds a life to the car on the same reel. This car is then not removed if another car reaches the prize-paying finish line first.
You need a Scatter Car to pass the finish line to trigger the Mad Bonus Round, and this gives you 7 free spins. You’re then taken to a race track where 5 instant prize cars are lined up at the bottom. Regular symbols are removed during the feature, and you get a new car at the bottom when cars reach the finish line at the top. This also adds +1 extra free spin to the tally.
The Boost Reel is active in the bonus round as well, but the Survivor modifier is not present. You get some additional modifier symbols however, and these are as follows:
- Line Up - makes all other cars line up on the same row.
- Persistent Payer - gives its value to all present cars per spin as long as it is present.
- Persistent Collector - collects the value from all present cars per spin as long as it is present.
- Persistent Payer & Collector Combo - does both of the above per spin as long as it is present.
You can trigger the Mad Race feature at random times after the final free spin has played out. You will then see all present cars race to the finish line to pay their respective prizes, which makes for a climactic finish.
The Star Icon takes you into the Bonus Buy menu, but this icon is not available in all jurisdictions (and not in the UK for sure). You can choose from 4 different options as follows:
- Buy the regular Mad Bonus Round for 115.7x your stake.
- Buy the Payer Bonus Round (guaranteed persistent payer from the start) for 301x your stake.
- Buy the Collector Bonus Round (guaranteed persistent collector from the start) for 456x your stake.
The Mystery Mad Bonus option costs 624x, and gives you one of the above features randomly. What makes the gamble worthwhile however, is the fact that you can also win a combined feature. It comes with a persistent collector and payer from the start.

Review Summary
The comparison to other similar games is unavoidable, but Mad Cars stands firmly on its own two legs (or should we say its own four wheels). The game is high-tempo all the way, with stunning changes of scenery as you trigger the racing bonus round. This makes the post-apocalyptic world highly engaging, as the base game gives you car racing teasers compared to what goes on in the feature.
This is not an easy game to tame though, and it will throw you off in frustration many times as it keeps taking you by surprise. You need those darn cars to cross the finish line to win after all, and the bonus round is about as bouncy and volatile as any high risk punter can hope for. The 25,000x potential is a solid max win that tops off a thoroughly enjoyable car racing experience.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Prize Car symbols pay if they reach the top | Beware of customizable RTP ranges |
| Boost Reel w/ 4 modifiers that applies to cars | |
| FS car race w/ extra persistent modifiers | |
| Win up to 25,000x your stake |
If you love Mad Cars Slot you should also try:
Another game - is a instant classic, and you get respins with progressive win multipliers in the base game. The bonus round is the big attraction, of course, as it comes with modifier symbols that can lead to payouts up to 50,000x your stake.
Another game - is a high-paced post-apocalyptic highway heist release, and tumbling wins unlock top row positions. This expands the grid up to 5x7 at the most, and the Bonus Round comes with modifier symbols and a 25,000x max win potential.
Another game - is a cartoonish release, and the 6x4 grid is set in a post-apocalyptic junkyard not unlike the game at hand. Exploding scatter pairs upgrade the top sliding wild reel, which award different wilds. Everything is enhanced in the bonus round, and you can win up to 5,000x your stake.
