Machina Reloaded Megaways Review
The original Machina Megaways was Kalamaba’s debut with the licensed dynamic reels engine, and the futuristic sci-fi theme really shines in this revamped version. Machina Reloaded Megaways takes you into a neon-infused city that fans of Bladerunner 2049 will probably enjoy, and this is a high-paced and stylish release that sticks out from most other Megaways games.
The features are pretty similar to the original release, as this is a ‘reloaded’ version and not a full-blown sequel. A horizontal top reel has been bolted on though, and you need to activate the HyperBet option to make full use of it. Cascading wins are still not part of the equation, but you get instant Cashpot prizes up to 37,000x in this version.
Machina Reloaded Megaways Slot Features
The premium symbols pay 1.5x your stake for 5 of a kind with either of the 4 different-colored human characters, while the top-tier cyborg pays 2x your stake for 5-oak. Golden Wild symbols step in for pay symbols to help complete wins, and they come in different sizes.
Turning on the HyperBet feature unlocks all positions on the top reel, which gives you up to 117,649 win ways and a slightly higher 96.3 % RTP. The first 3 positions from the left are locked with the HyperBet turned off, and this gives you up to 74,088 ways to win and an RTP of 96.2 %. Each spin costs twice as much with the HyperBet feature turned on.
The Cashpots seen stacked on the left-hand side can be won by landing 10, 12, 16 or 19 Cyborg symbols at the same time. This awards the bronze, silver, gold or platinum cashpot, and they pay 5x, 12.5x, 300x or 15,000x your stake, respectively.
The Bonus Round triggers when you land 3, 4, 5 or 6 scatters on the same spin, and this gives you 10, 12, 15 or 18 free spins, respectively. You also get a scatter payout up front, of 2x, 5x, 10x or 15x your stake, respectively. A trail of the human symbols are stacked on the right-hand side during the feature, and you’ll collect scatters to upgrade each human symbol to the top-tier cyborg in chronological order from the lowest to the highest value.
You get +2 extra spins per upgrade, and the upgrade tiers are 4, 8, 13 and 18 collected scatters. If you manage to upgrade all 4 humans to the cybor, you get +2 extra spins per 5 scatters collected after that. The HyperBonus (not available in all jurisdictions, and not in the UK for sure) gives you 4 Bonus Buy options as follows:
- Pay 56.92x for 10 free spins with an RTP of 96.4 %.
- Pay 105.94x for 12 free spins with an RTP of 96.51 %.
- Pay 240.3x for 15 free spins with an RTP of 96.6 %.
- Pay 466.84x for 18 free spins with an RTP of 96.7 %.

Review Summary
We really enjoyed the spin pace of this game, combined with all the buzzing electric soundbites, and overall the modernized theme looks better than the original. Having no cascading wins might bother some players, but at least you’re not slowed down all the time only to get what usually amounts to smaller wins. It feels a bit strange to pay extra for the full Megaways experience though, especially since the HyperBet doesn’t affect your bonus round chances.
Everything revolves around the cyborg, and the human characters are flat and somewhat lacking in personality. The symbol value difference could perhaps have been higher, but the cyborg provides cashpot prizes if you land enough instances. The bonus round cyborg upgrade system is entertaining enough this time as well, but Kalamba missed the opportunity to throw some extra modifiers into the mix. Anyway, Machina Reloaded Megaways is a solid remake, and well worth checking out.
