Lumberjack Review

This studio might be minor, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t produce decent enough online slots. After all, even simpler games can find their audiences, and that’s perhaps what the team is banking on with releases like Lumberjack. What we have here is something quite straightforward, though not entirely without charm. In any case, the action takes place on a playing field with 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 paylines.

Thematically, Lumberjack does pretty much exactly what it says on the tin. The titular lumberjack does make an appearance on the reels, as do some wild animals. There are even some animations thrown into the mix, but we can’t be happy with how the slot looks overall. Its production values are definitely below average, and most of the symbol designs look rather childish. Considering that this is a 2020 release, they should’ve done way better!

There’s not much available info about the game’s mathematical model, but we can give you at least some data points. The betting range, for one, goes from £0.10 to £100 per spin, and the top regular combination is worth 200x your bet. That’s not the slot’s jackpot, though, as you can get more of such combinations, and even get win multipliers applied to them.

Lumberjack Slot Features

There are 10 pay symbols in total in Lumberjack, and they are divided into 6 low pays and 4 high pays. For low pays, there are card ranks from Nines to Aces, and they are worth up to 16x your bet for a combination. That’s quite good, and the payouts are even better for the game’s high pays. Those show foxes, pumas, bears and lumberjacks, with lumberjacks being the most valuable symbols of them all. If you line up 5 of them on a payline, you’ll get a tidy 200x win!

For specials, there are Fire Wilds and Cottage Scatters, and we can tell you that you’ll definitely enjoy seeing them appear.

Fire Wilds work as both Wilds and win multipliers in the Lumberjack slot. That means that they can not only substitute for other symbols in winning combos, but also multiply wins in which they feature. For 1, 2, 3 and 4 Flame Wilds, the win multipliers are 2x, 4x, 8x and 16x, respectively.

Cottage Scatters can land only on the middle three reels. If you get 3 in one go, though, you’ll trigger the Free Spins feature with 10 free spins. There are no retriggers, but the feature does come with a nice twist. Whenever you get a winning combination, the involved symbols will be locked for free respins. Those will keep coming for as long as you keep improving the configuration, so you can get quite a few of them that way!

Review Summary

At the end of the day, Lumberjack is a slot with both pluses and minuses. On the positive side of things, it’s quite easy to enjoy the slot’s gameplay features. There are Multiplier Wilds, for one, and the Free Spins feature comes with respins that can improve your winning combos. On the flip side, the game’s graphics are almost childish, and we don’t have much info about its math model.
