As the popularity of a previous release starts to wane, a reskin job often follows. Some developers might limit themselves to one or two such follow-ups, but this is the 3rd release rehashing a similar format. Links of Fire is a reskin of a previous game.
You can trace the lack of enthusiasm in these reskin jobs by the blandness of the theme. After a trip to ancient Egypt, the developer has arrived at the fruit theme, the most basic wrapping there is. You get the same features as in the Ra version, and the same math model. Your best chance of winning big is by triggering the Link&Win feature within the bonus round, as this doubles all prizes.
Links of Fire Slot Features
The premium symbols pay between 5 and 7.5 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the game logo Wild steps in for regular pay symbols to help complete wins. The Wild also pays 25x your stake for 5 of a kind, and the Power Stacks feature can trigger on any given spin. This will ‘super stack’ regular pay symbols, meaning they are added to all 5 reels.
The Link&Win feature triggers when you land 6+ coin symbols anywhere in view, and these come with cash values up to 15x your stake when triggered from the base game. The triggering coins become sticky on a cleared grid, and you start with 3 spins in the tally.
The spin tally resets for each new sticky coin or jackpot symbol you land, and all coin and jackpot values are doubled if you trigger the feature from within the bonus round. The Link&Win feature goes on until you either run out of spins, or fill the grid, and the latter awards the Grand Jackpot worth 2,500x (or 5,000x) your stake. The other jackpots are won from jackpot symbols, and they are as follows:
- Major Jackpot pays 500x your stake (or 1,000x if triggered from FS mode).
- Minor Jackpot pays 100x your stake (or 200x if triggered from FS mode).

The wild lands stacked during the feature, but there is no way to retrigger or get extra free spins.

Review Summary
While the fruity theme is decently done, it cannot compare to what you got in a previous game. This is a lighthearted and jazzy release, and it’s also a reskin of the previous ancient Egypt follow-up. It’s not a bad recipe for a game though, and we like the fact that jackpots are doubled if the Link&Win feature triggers within the bonus round.
Still, you have to be a huge fan of fruit machines to prefer this rehash. You don’t get Power Stacks on each spin here either, as it comes at random times instead. The 25,000x potential still requires multiple Grand Jackpots within a single bonus round, which seems highly unlikely, so a more realistic max win is probably 5,000x to 10,000x your stake. Links of Fire is basically a shelf-filler release with very little thought or effort behind it.

We feel that a bit more effort has been put into the ancient Egypt theme in this game than the more generic fruit theme in the version at hand. The math model and features are identical though, and you get power stack triggers at random times.
Another popular installment, and once again you’re dealing with a reskin job. A pure copycat, but with a theme.
