We were impressed by Slingshot Studios’ Game of Thrones Power Stacks, and Leprechaun Links is the same game with a far more cheerful Irish Luck theme. It’s a pure reskin job in other words, as both the math model and the features are the same as in the original. This might disappoint some players craving something brand new each time, while others will appreciate having options.
The main attraction is still the Link&Win feature, not least because of the 4 jackpots, and the enchanted forest goes well together with the jolly soundtrack. We’ve seen the Irish Luck theme done better and worse before however, and you still need to trigger the Link&Win feature from within the bonus round to unlock the game’s full potential. We understand the reskin temptation, but we prefer uniqueness in each release.
Leprechaun Links Slot Features
The Leprechaun Wild can land anywhere, and it steps in for all regular pay symbols to help you complete winning combinations. It’s also the most valuable symbol in the game (except for the scatter), and 5-oak wins award 25x payouts. The regular premiums pay between 5 and 7.5 x your stake in comparison.
On the left-hand side you’ll see a randomly chosen symbol on display with the word Power Stacks underneath it. The chosen Power Stack symbol varies per spin, but scatters and wilds cannot be power stacked. The chosen symbol will land in stacks, increasing your chances of a larger payout.
You need to land 6+ cash coin symbols anywhere on the same spin to trigger the Link&Win feature. The triggering coins become sticky on a cleared grid, and you get 3 respins. Any new cash coins that land become sticky as well, and the respins tally resets to 3 again. The feature goes on until you run out of respins, or until you fill the grid with non-blank symbols.
The cash coins are worth between 1 and 15 x your stake when the feature is triggered from the base game, but both the coin values and jackpot values are doubled if you trigger the Link&Win feature from within the bonus round. This means 2 to 30 x your stake cash coins, and jackpots up to 5,000x your stake.
You win the top-tier Diamond Jackpot by filling the grid with non-blank symbols (i.e. cash coins and smaller jackpot symbols), and this awards 2,500x your stake (base game trigger) or 5,000x (free spins trigger). The Bronze, Silver and Gold jackpots are worth 20, 100 and 500 x your stake when triggered from the base game, and 40, 200 and 1,000 x your stake when the feature is triggered from the bonus round.
The Bonus Round comes about when you land 3, 4 or 5 scatters anywhere in view, and this awards a scatter payout of 1, 10 or 100 x your stake up front. You get 15 free spins no matter how many triggering scatters you land, and an x2 multiplier applies to all wins. Wilds land stacked during the feature, and the x2 multiplier applies to all wins in the Link&Win feature, if triggered from within the bonus round.

Review Summary
Being a reskin of Game of Thrones Power Stacks, players familiar with the branded original will not find anything new in Leprechaun Links. It thus boils down to which theme you prefer, Irish Luck or GoT. The contrast is quite stark in that regard, and it can be nice to have a more “friendly” and charming alternative to the brutal world of white walkers, giants and ruthless kings and warriors.
The volatility can be brutal enough in both installments though, and you need to strap yourself in for a bumpy ride with plenty of dead spins. Power stacked symbols can be somewhat helpful at times, but the Link&Win feature is still your best shot at cracking the 25,000x potential. You will need to trigger it from within the bonus round to stand a real chance though, and overall 5,000x seems like a more realistic prospect.
