Legendary Diamonds Review

It's fair to say that some studios stick to familiar formulas rather than constant innovation. We appreciate all the teams that work hard to give us games to play. The first impression that Legendary Diamonds made on us wasn’t too positive, though, and we weren’t off when we thought that we’ve already seen something like this before. In fact, Legendary Diamonds is pretty much a formulaic slot, with no twists to freshen things up. We’ll go through everything it has, though, and we’ll kick things off by saying that it all takes place on 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 winlines.

There’s hardly any theme to Legendary Diamonds, though the titular diamonds do play major roles in the proceedings. We can’t call that a theme, though, can we? Aside from that, it’s all the basic stuff from old-school slot machines, though the audiovisuals have been upgraded to look modern. Overall, the production values are solid, but you can’t go in expecting much.

Mathematically, Legendary Diamonds is a high volatility slot, with its jackpot clocking in at 2,000x your bet. Players can also choose from many different bet sizes, which is pleasant. The min bet is £0.20, while high rollers can up the ante to as much as £200 per spin. The game’s theoretical RTP is then 95.60%, which is nothing to write home about.

Legendary Diamonds Slot Features

There are seven pay symbols in total, and they are split into two categories. The low pays – or minors, as the slot calls them – show BAR symbols, horseshoes, cherries, and purple hearts. These can pay you up to 3x your bet for a five-of-a-kind combination. The high pays – or majors – are then all about sevens, which come in three types. You can get single sevens, double sevens, and even triple sevens. Find 5 triple sevens on a payline, and you’ll win 30x your bet! Notably, you can get winning combinations of mixed sevens, too, and these are worth up to 2.5x your bet.

Aside from pay symbols, there are also three special symbols in Legendary Diamonds - Star Wilds, Red Diamond Scatters, and Diamonds. Star Wilds substitute for other symbols and even come with their own payouts, while Red Diamond Scatters and Diamonds interact with the slot’s gameplay features.

Land 3 Red Diamond Scatters on the middle three reels to trigger the Wheel of Fortune feature. Here, you’ll get to spin a wheel of fortune that will determine your number of free spins and your win multiplier, which will be in effect during the entire feature. Retriggers are possible, too, with no actual limits, though you won’t get to spin any wheels again.

Then, there’s the Diamond Payouts feature that’s active on all spins and that rewards players for all sets of 3+ Diamonds. There’s a handy paytable right next to the playing field that lists all the possible rewards, so you always know what’s on the line. While 3 Diamonds are enough for a 1x win, you’ll win the slot’s 2,000x jackpot if you find 9 Diamonds on the playing field!

Review Summary

All in all, Legendary Diamonds is a simple yet elegant slot that doesn’t bring anything new to the table. It uses a very formulaic set of gameplay features that most players have already seen, and its theme doesn’t add anything to the mix either. It’s a reasonable mid-range slot that you can’t go wrong with, but that’s probably the most positive thing that we can say about it.
