Knight Rider Review
David Hasselhoff is perhaps best known for his leading role in the 90s series, Baywatch, but he got his big break as a young actor in the 80s action/crime drama ‘Knight Rider’ (1982-1986). He plays Michael Knight in the cult classic show, and he’s basically fighting crime with assistance from his self-aware, AI talking car, KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand). Michael Knight's first reaction to seeing his new car is the unforgettable line: “It looks like Dart Vader’s bathroom!”.
The intro to the show is also the intro to this slot version, and there is plenty here for fans to sink their teeth into. The gameplay builds on a similar concept, but now you get walking wilds that increase their reel-specific multiplier per step. Of course, most younger people these days have probably not even heard about this show, but Knight Rider is still a decent enough branded effort with a solid 7,000x potential.
Knight Rider Slot Features
The premium symbols pay between 2 to 4 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, with Michael Knight (David Hasselhoff) as the top-tier symbol. Wilds land with a multiplier that’s equal to the reel number they land on (x1 to x5 in other words), and wilds also step in for regular pay symbols to help complete winning combinations. When several multiplier wilds are involved in the same win, the respective multipliers are multiplied with each other.
When a multiplier wild is part of a win, it moves one step to the right, and this increases the multiplier accordingly. This goes on as long as the wild keeps being used in a win. The Turbo Boost Feature can trigger at random times in the base game, and it adds between 3 and 4 multiplier wilds randomly placed on the grid.
The Bonus Round triggers when you land 3 game logo scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4, and this gives you 10 free spins. Special Knight symbols are collected during the feature, and you increase the bonus round level by one tier for every 3 Knight symbols you collect. This awards +2 extra spins, as well as +1 extra laser wild. You get the current number of laser wilds added to the grid per free spin, and they work exactly like the walking multiplier wilds from the base game.
You can get to bonus round level 4 at the most, and this gives you 3 guaranteed laser wilds added per free spin. Finally, non-UK players, and anyone living in an eligible jurisdiction, may take advantage of the Bonus Buy feature. This will set you back 140x your stake, and it takes you directly into the bonus round without any triggering spin.
The 200 Spins Knight Rider Slot Experience
You get to see plenty of walking multiplier wilds in the base game, before we purchase the bonus round at 1:40 into the 4-minute highlights video. You can see for yourself which bonus round level we reached, as well as how much we got away with, by hitting the play button below.
Review Summary
Truth be told, the game speed isn't ideal, and the brief soundtrack snippets you get in the base game becomes annoying after a little while. The reel-specific multiplier wilds are walking though, which helps, or at least they can be if part of a win. The symbol values are lower however, but the 7,000x potential has been increased a few notches.
“Keep your scanners peeled” for extra multiplier wilds in the bonus round, where the soundtrack finally is allowed to play freely without interruption. The extra wilds land in addition to the guaranteed laser wild(s) you get per free spin, and this lethal combo can switch the feature into high-gear in an instant. Even more dialogue between Knight and KITT would have been appreciated, but there is plenty here for fans of the cult classic TV-series.

| Reel-specific multiplier wilds turn walking if you win | Somewhat awkward game pace |

If you love Knight Rider Slot you should also try:
A similar game builds upon the same concept, and you get reel-specific multiplier wilds also in this predecessor. You can look forward to a bonus round race against drivers, and this can lead to payouts up to 5,100x your stake.
Another game is an 80s-inspired neon-infused automobile-centric release, and it comes with a bouncy equalizer graph in front of the 5x4 reel set. The grid expands up to 6x7 at random times though, and you get moving, expanded sticky wilds in the bonus round. The grid is always maxed out in the feature, and you can win up to 10,000x your stake.
Another game is a Miami Vice-inspired follow-up release, and it comes with 3 hotlines. Wilds expand to cover the full reel when they land in a hotline, and all wilds that expand during the bonus round also expand the hotline zone. This also increases the number of win ways, and the max win is 5,184x your stake.
