Kingdoms Rise Battle Beast Review
The Ways Plus mechanic was first introduced in another game, and it also took center stage in a similar title. The latter is very similar to the game at hand, but Kingdoms Rise: Battle Beast cannot be called a reskin/clone due to the different math models and jackpot features.
Glorious Griffin is preferrable, as the potential has been reduced from 40,960x your stake to “only” 10,000x. The Ways Plus mechanic doesn’t really have the A-list “star power” to carry a game on its own, and you’ll not see all that much of it in the base game anyway. Getting more of it in the bonus round is not a very exciting prospect, and the whole game reeks of being a watered down version of Griffin.
Kingdoms Rise: Battle Beast Features
The wild symbol can land on reels 2 to 6 only, and it will step in for all regular pay symbols like wilds usually do. Whenever you see a regular pay symbol surrounded by a golden flame, you’ve triggered the random Ways Plus feature. The symbol will then expand one step in all directions, effectively making a cross on the grid.
The Sabretooth Slash Bonus Round is triggered when you land at least 3 scatters anywhere on the same spin. You win 8, 15, 25 or 100 free spins respectively, when you land 3, 4, 5 or 6 scatters. Your chances of triggering the Ways Plus feature is 3 times more likely during bonus round spins. You get 5 extra spins when you land 2 scatters, and 3 to 6 scatters equals a full retrigger with 8, 15, 25 or 100 extra spins, respectively.
Per usual in this series, you can take advantage of the Kingdom Rise Shop feature. Symbols land with tokens attached, and these are collected when you play. Collected tokens can be used to buy features in the shop. In this game you can buy a Wild Beast Respins feature. Random symbols will be collected during the feature, and all collected symbols are released on the final Super Spin:
- 500 tokens - 5 Battle Beast Respins + 1 Super Spin with up to 2 chosen symbols.
- 1,000 tokens - 5 Raging Beast Respins + 1 Super Spin with up to 3 chosen symbols.
- 2,000 tokens - 5 Ferocious Beast Respins + 1 Super Spin with up to 5 chosen symbols.
It’s also possible to use the tokens you collect to purchase features in other slots in the Kingdom Rise series. Finally, you have the Jackpot feature that can be triggered at random times during gameplay:

A few decent wins in the base game occurred, and the Free Games bonus round is triggered around the 1-minute mark. The Ways Plus feature seems hard to trigger. The highlights video is only 2 minutes long this time.
Review Summary
The name for the Ways Plus mechanic is somewhat misleading. It sounds like the number of win ways will increase (like xWays), but that’s not the case at all. The symbol merely clones itself one instance in all directions, and it’s not really all that impressive those rare times when it actually does manifest.
You will always win when the Ways Plus feature triggers however, as it will not bother unless a winning combo can be created or improved upon. The bonus round gives you more of this feature, but it’s certainly possible to burn through plenty of free spins without seeing much of it. This whole series is a bit weary, and Kingdoms Rise: Battle Beast does very little to lift spirit.
