Iron County Outlaw Review
The studio has released another title called Iron County Outlaw, making their first foray into the Wild West theme.
While the game may look not overly compelling on the outside, utilizing a well-known theme, the features laid down here are pretty unique and offer a somewhat different kind of gaming experience. There’s not a ton to say about the sights of Iron County Outlaw, which are rather basic. We’ve been to the Old West quite a few times in the slots world, so we will hardly get surprised by the familiar Western environment. What does surprise though is the reel layout. The game starts on a 5x4, 30-payline setup, and there’s an additional 6th reel that is initially inactive, which we’ll explain how to get unlocked shortly.
The Iron County Outlaw slot comes with a betting range from £0.2 to £30 per spin, providing enough options for both lower-stake punters and high-rollers. It is powered by a medium-volatile math model and has an above-average RTP of 96.23%, so expect a fair balance between payouts size and frequency. Roughly, wins tend to occur once in every 3 spins in accordance with the 29.02% hit rate. As for the max win, however, the value is officially unknown.
On the reels, we see 8 different regular symbols, divided into higher and lower sections. The lower lot consists of classic card suits, while the premiums are horseshoes, pistols, skulls, and money bags. All symbols pay from 3-of-a-kind and more, and combinations of five are worth 1.2x to 30x the stake. When unlocked, the 6th reel gives an opportunity to hit 6-of-a-kind combos, which pay twice as big.
Iron County Outlaw Slot Features
The gorgeous lady sheriff is the Wild symbol, who is the key to winning big on Iron County Outlaw. Wilds can appear on any of the reels to substitute for any other regular symbols, and they can be upgraded to produce bigger winning opportunities.
The regular symbols can randomly appear with Coins attached to them. If a Wild appears, it collects all visible coins and adds them to the meter. Once enough are collected, the Wild symbol gets an upgrade for all subsequent spins:
- 30 Coins - upgrades Wild to Stacked Wild, which always lands in stacks of 4 symbols.
- 60 Coins - upgrades Stacked Wild to Random Multiplier Wilds. All wins including Wild symbols are randomly multiplied by 2x, 3x, or 5x.
- 90 Coins - upgrades Random Multiplier Wilds to Locked Multiplier Wilds and unlocks the 6th reel, where only high-paying symbols and Wilds are available. When appearing, Locked Wilds stay on the reels until a losing spin occurs. If there’s a win involving the Wild symbol, the Wild Multiplier is increased by +1x, up to a maximum of 10x.
Players can also benefit from the Replace Feature, which can pop up randomly on any losing spin when there’s a Wild symbol present on the reels. When activated, all symbols except the Wild are removed, and a new set of high-paying symbols drops from above to guarantee a win.
Review Summary
Despite its common looks, Iron County Outlaw appears to be quite fun once you take a peek behind the curtain. The features lurking beneath the basic appearance provide plenty of entertainment, and most importantly, are capable of bringing you enormous payouts. With that said, we are looking forward to seeing what’s next on the line.
