Our Verdict
You don't get to visit the Himalayas all that often in the world of online slots, and could definitely have created a more spectacular setting for this game. The snowy plains backdrop is as barebones and boring as the base game itself. I expected a more majestic mountain view when first loading Himalayan Wild. The animal symbols also come across as somewhat generic and recycled, and the only peak you actually get to see is found on the Mountain Money symbol.
Unfortunately, this Money symbol pays rather measly sums in the base game, while also blocking potential wins with regular pay symbols. It feels like it's just in the way and should’ve been reserved for the bonus round. The soundtrack is decent, but nothing too memorable either, though it's arguably better than the generic visuals. One positive is that the top-tier Bear symbol pays even for a single instance, although it awards only 0.2x your stake. Still, it's an unusual feature, and smaller Bear symbol wins landed frequently during my testing.
While the winning animal symbols have their obligatory animations and sound effects, you don't get the sense that has poured their heart and soul into this release. Another curiosity is the way you trigger the Free Respins Bonus, and the fact that you can trigger multiple instances of it via multiple Wild wins in the same spin. However, most of the time you get a single feature with a rather low Money symbol value.
