Once again we return to the western frontier, and this time you're involved in a potentially lucrative gold nugget heist. The Heist for the Golden Nuggets is plotted by 5 characters, and their plan is apparently being hatched in a dusty saloon that looks abandoned. The local bank is filled to the brim with deposited gold nuggets, and you’ll join the 5 bandits in their effort to get their hands on more riches than they would probably know what to do with.

The base game is simple enough, as it comes with wilds that increase their multiplier boost the more wilds that are involved in the win. Up to an x16 multiplier can boost your wild wins in that regard, and the bonus round is all about landing Nugget Value prize collector symbols. The Nugget Value increases per gold nugget money symbol, and the collector symbol will be one of the bank robbers chosen up front. The 5,000x potential is solid enough, and Heist for the Golden Nuggets is a decent installment in the popular wild west genre.

The premium character symbols pay between 2.5 and 20 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and you can land Wild symbols on all 5 reels. Wilds not only step in for pay symbols to help complete and/or improve line wins, they can also boost line wins they partake in. Landing 2, 3, 4, or 5 wilds that are part of the same win will boost that win by a multiplier of x2, x4, x8, or x16, respectively.

The gold nugget Money Symbols come with cash prize values of 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 10x, 20x, 40x, 50x, 80x, 100x, or 250x your stake. The prize values are unlit by default when the money symbols land in the base game, but they can light up at the end of the spin at random times. If this happens, the sum total of the money symbol values are paid.

You need at least one Money Symbol on reels 1, 3, and 5 to trigger the Bonus Round, and this gives you 5 free spins no matter the amount of triggering symbols. The sum total of the triggering money symbol values are collected in a meter on the left-hand side up front, and this is called the Nugget Value meter. All new money symbol nuggets that appear in the bonus round are also added to this meter.

Before the bonus round plays out, 1 of the 5 character symbols are chosen randomly by a revolver cylinder that spins. The chosen symbol becomes the Special Money Symbol during the feature, and all instances of this symbol pay the total Nugget Value prize each time. It comes in the form of a wanted poster, and you win +5 extra spins from landing money symbols on reels 1, 3, and 5 on the same free spin.

Non-UK players, and anyone living in an eligible jurisdiction, can purchase the bonus round for 75x the stake. The RTP is a tad lower if you purchase the feature, but in practice it makes no real difference. That being said, Heist for the Golden Nuggets will keep you entertained for a while, and it comes with some mean looking characters. Multiplier boosted wild wins can lead to solid payouts also in the base game, and the 5,000x potential comes with a hit rate of 1 in 14,084,507 spins. This is not too shabby all things considered, and a lot hangs on building up a solid Nugget Value in the bonus round. The chosen symbol seemed to land quite frequently, but this will surely vary per session and with regards to how much it pays.
