Hammerfall Review
This game feels like a passion project. The game rotates between 3 hit songs with corresponding worlds, and the band mascot, Hector, is active on the sideline. Central to the action is the Hammer Meter, which is charged by winning symbols to unleash a song/world specific modifier. 4 random modifiers will sometimes give you a second chance at prolonging the winning streak. This is needed, as you cannot rely on a bonus round to crack the 30,000x potential.
Hammerfall slot Features
The band logo is the regular wild symbol, and it steps in for all pay symbols to help you form winning combinations. The Cascading Wins engine removes winning clusters from the grid, and the gaps are filled by a fresh batch of symbols dropping from above. This process will repeat as long as you keep winning.
The Hammer Meter is charged by each winning cluster, and you need to collect 25 winning symbols to get a full charge. This triggers the Song feature corresponding to your current world as follows:
- Twilight Princess – awards a 2x2 mega wild randomly placed on the grid.
- Second to None – all premiums are turned into a randomly chosen matching premium symbol. If less than 5 premium symbols are present, random low-value symbols will be transformed also.
- And Yet I Smile – removes all low-value symbols from the grid.
When a Song feature has played out, you’re automatically shifted to the next world. If you manage to charge the Hammer Meter with 50 winning symbols in a single spin sequence, the Hammer High feature is unleashed. You then get all 3 modifiers paraded out, one after another.
You’ll see highlighted positions shift randomly around for each spin, and these are called Super Tiles. Lightning Wilds are created in the corresponding position when a symbol in front of a Super Tile is involved in a winning combo. The lightning wild becomes sticky if part of a winning cluster, and they come with multipliers up to x3 attached.
In addition to the above, you’ll also benefit from a bunch of modifiers that are randomly triggered on non-winning spins. These are as follows:
- Never Forgive – a randomly selected symbol pulls all other instances towards itself, destroying symbols that are in the way.
- Bring It – turns all high-value symbols into matching symbols, or destroys them.
- One Against the World – all symbols adjacent to a randomly chosen symbol are destroyed.
- Chain of Command – turns a random chain of symbols into matching symbols, or destroys them.

Review Summary
There is no doubt that fans of the band are gonna enjoy this thing, and Hammerfall is a competent and well-designed grid slot in all respects. The lack of a bonus round might bother some players though, but there are plenty of features and modifiers to keep you entertained. The grid can explode into lengthy and lucrative cascades at any given moment, and this tense unpredictability goes well with the heavy-hitting soundtrack.
It’s evident that extra effort went into this project, with the inclusion of the iron-clad, animated band mascot, Hector, and the unusually high 30,000x potential. Regarding the latter however, it’s hard to see how. With a 500x single spin max win and no bonus round, you’ll need plenty of lightning wild multipliers, combined with quite a lengthy cascading session to get close. This is probably why the max win probability has to be written like this: 2.42E-16 (i.e. 1 in 2.42 + 16 zeroes).
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| 3 Hammerfall songs/worlds | No bonus round |
| Charge meter to trigger modifiers | Beware of customizable RTP ranges |
| 4 random modifiers on losing spins | |
| Win up to 30,000x your stake |
