It’s hard to not like mining slots in general. The follow-up, Gold Mine Stacks 2, is a winter-themed release that doesn’t stray too far from the original blueprint, and the main attraction in the base game is still the Wild Stack Respins feature. It can lead to decent payouts up to 400x your stake, and the Super Bet doubles your bonus round chances as before.

The Gold Mine Stacks Bonus feature takes you deep into the mine shaft, and this time it comes with a whopping 16 levels. Each level upgrades the bonus prizes, and one of them is boosted by up to an x20 multiplier. This is true for all of them in the super version, but the solid 50,000x potential has not changed. Fans of the mining slot genre will not regret taking this one for a spin.

The Gold Mine Stacks Bonus Round triggers from 3+ bonus symbols anywhere in view, and you can gamble for up to 2 Super Lives up front. You also get 1 or 2 super lives if you trigger the bonus round with 4 or 5 bonus symbols, respectively. Super lives restores your life tally to 3 when you run out of lives/spins.

The upfront Randomizer spin upgrades one bonus prize value with up to an x20 multiplier, unless you land the safe symbol. The safe symbol upgrades the whole feature to the Super version, where all bonus prizes are boosted by up to an x20 multiplier. You upgrade all the bonus prizes to the next level by filling a reel, and this removes all sticky bonus prize symbols as well.

There are 16 levels in total, and each level comes with more lucrative bonus prizes than the previous. Level 1, where you start, comes with bonus prize values that range from 1x and 20x your stake, while level 15 gives you bonus prizes between 15x and 300x your stake. We’ll get to what happens when you reach level 16 below, but let’s first describe the actual bonus round.

So, the Gold Mine Stacks Bonus is basically a hold & win style feature, as bonus prize symbols become sticky which resets the 3-lives respins tally each time. The feature goes on until you run out of lives (and super lives, if you have any), and your total win is then paid. If you reach level 16, however, you automatically crack the 50,000x potential. This forfeits all other winnings, since this is the game’s hard capped max win.

Finally, you can double your bonus round chances by turning on the Super Bet feature in the base game. This costs 25 % more per spin. The Wild Stack Respins feature will still keep you on your toes in the base game when it triggers, so the biggest changes are found in the enhanced Gold Mine Stacks Bonus.

First of all, you can now gamble for up to 2 super lives up front, which is risky, yet tempting. Secondly, you now get 16 levels instead of just 4, with up to 300x bonus prize symbols. The multiplier tops out at x20, however, while it could go as high as x50 in the predecessor. All is forgiven if you trigger the Super version, however, since this upgrades all bonus symbols with the granted multiplier. The 50,000x potential is the same, so we wouldn’t say that this sequel makes the original obsolete.
