God of Fire Review
A game developer has decided to create their own engine to compete with a popular Megaways engine, and God of Fire is the first release where their homegrown UltraWays engine is on full display. They tested the waters with a previous game, but you’ll now benefit from up to 60 million win ways in all stages of the game.
Each position can contain up to 4 matching symbols, but you win only a small amount from a lot of top-tier symbols on a payline. Compared to other similar-themed games, the fire god theme looks a bit primitive and dated, but it gets the job done. The highly dynamic UltraWays engine is surprisingly refreshing, and it would be nice to see a release that’s visually up to speed as well.
God of Fire Slot Features
The regular wild steps in for all pay symbols, and it’s also worth more or less the same as the top premium symbol. Land a lot of them on a payline, and you’ll pocket a small amount. Landing a Blue Wild triggers the Exploding Wild feature, and you’ll see the blue wild clone itself into single, double or quad wilds placed randomly on the grid. It can also turn into another blue wild, repeating the exploding process until only non-blue wilds are left on the screen.
The treasure chest wreath symbol is the bonus scatter, and you need at least 3 anywhere in sight to trigger the Bonus Round. You win 3, 4 or 5 free spin lives when you land 3, 4 or 5 scatters, respectively. You can get extra lives, while skull symbols remove 1 life every time they land.
The free spins go on indefinitely, until you run out of lives, and 1 of 3 modifiers may trigger randomly on any spin:
- Exploding Wilds - a Blue Wild replaces a randomly chosen symbol on the grid.
- UltraWays Upgrade - awards an UltraWays upgrade to 1 symbol type, which increases the number of win ways.

The UltraWays concept comes more to its right in God of Fire than in the engine's debut release. With a lot of win ways possible at any given spin, it’s safe to say that the Megaways engine has got some competition. The visual presentation and choice of theme could perhaps have been more original and less dated.
It’s certainly a sight to behold when quad wilds are bombarding the grid during Blue Wild Explosions, and the unpredictability keeps the tension high at all times. Indefinite free spins is also fun, and we like how collecting near-miss scatters eventually leads to an even better bonus round. The potential suits the massive number of win ways, but keep in mind that the symbol values are very low to compensate.
