As you embark on your gem-matching journey, you'll traverse 3 enchanted worlds, each guarded by a unique character - a miner, princess, and wizard. These guardians wield distinct powers, unleashing random wild features to aid you in your quest for cascading wins. The core mechanic of charging the Crystal Meter remains central, triggering 4 familiar modifiers that keep the winning streaks alive. Wins are formed by landing clusters of 8 to 15+ matching symbols anywhere on the 7x7 grid. A 15-symbol cluster rewards a handsome payout between 7.5 and 250 times your stake, while smaller clusters of 5 symbols yield 0.1 to 2.5 times your stake.

Cascading Reels

Winning symbols are removed via the Cascading mechanic, with new and existing symbols dropping down to fill the gaps. If the new batch of symbols generates one or more winning clusters, the cascading process repeats. This goes on indefinitely until you land a non-winning cascade.

Crystal Charge Feature

The Crystal Charge Meter collects all winning symbols per cascade, and you need 25 collected symbols to fill the meter. It can be filled up to multiple times per cascading sequence, and each filling of the meter unleashes a randomly chosen modifier when you land a non-winning cascade. The possible modifiers work as follows:

• Nova Blast - explodes a random symbol, which transforms and destroys all adjacent symbols as well.
• Crystal Warp - all instances of a randomly chosen symbol are turned into another symbol.
• Light Beam - a chosen symbol shoots light beams in a cross formation, and the affected symbols turn into other symbols.
• Chain Lightning - a bolt of chain lightning is created between two corner symbols, turning all affected symbols into the corner symbols.

If you collect 35+ symbols in the same cascading sequence, you Super Charge the Crystal Charger. This doubles the win multiplier for the current win.

Win Multiplier

Each cascading win adds +1 to the overall win multiplier in Gemix 100, and it can potentially go as high as x100. The win multiplier resets to x1 after each cascading sequence.

Pattern Clear And Magical Worlds

You will notice a unique pattern forming on the grid per spin, equal to the one on the mini-grid on the right-hand side. If you manage to clear the whole pattern by landing winning symbols above the highlighted symbols, the win multiplier increases by +5. You are then transported to a new world, with a different character’s World Wild modifier being activated at random times. Below is an overview of each character’s world and wild features:

• Miner’s World - adds up to 10 wilds randomly placed on the grid.
• Princess’ World - adds a wild to an edge position, which then spreads across the grid.

Our Verdict

Gemix 100 is a refreshing return to the roots of the beloved original Gemix , which has performed a lot better than its sequel, Gemix 2. Wisely, the game developer has chosen to recapture the essence of the first game while giving it a significant visual upgrade. The result is a sleek, mobile-friendly presentation bursting with colorful gemstones, maintaining the charm of the series. The gameplay is fast-paced, especially with the turbo mode activated, although achieving those long cascading sequences might feel a bit trickier compared to the original, likely due to the increased volatility.

The core mechanics and features remain faithful to the first game, including the 4 Crystal Charge modifiers, which continue to be instrumental in extending winning streaks. However, triggering these modifiers requires a slightly higher threshold of 25 collected symbols instead of 20. On the brighter side, reaching the Super Charge is theoretically easier, needing 35 symbols instead of 40. The reward is even more substantial, doubling the current win multiplier instead of just an x3 boost.

The 3 distinct character worlds are beautifully rendered, each accompanied by a unique soundtrack, and some of the World Wild features have been tweaked. Undoubtedly, the standout feature of Gemix 100 is the staggering 25,000x max win, dwarfing both predecessors. Fans of the original Gemix will likely find this 100 upgrade as delightful as we do.
