This game might not be among the most recognizable ones just yet, but it is doing its best to catch up with the main powerhouses. In this online slot review, we’ll take a look at the Gangsterz slot from November 2022. It’s a pretty big game, as it takes place on a playing field with 7 reels and 7 rows. There are no paylines in the mix, though. Instead, Gangsterz uses the Cluster Pays system, and your goal is to find Clusters of 5 or more matching symbols.

The theme of the Gangsterz slot is all about gangsters, of course, but those gangsters are actually depicted as dinosaurs on the game’s symbols. That makes for an original experience, and it’s quite easy to fall in love with all the cute designs that you can find on the reels.

Gangsterz Slot Features

There are 8 pay symbols in Gangsterz, and they are divided evenly into low pays and high pays. For low pays, there are egg symbols with dollar signs, crosshairs, police badges, and locks. For high pays, there are four dinosaur symbols that represent gangsters and policemen. While low pays can net you up to 10x your bet for a Cluster with 15 or more matching symbols, the top regular payout is as high as 750x your bet. You’ll get it if you find a Cluster of 15 or more matching top-pays, which look like orange T-Rexes.

For special symbols, there are only Wild symbols that look like glowing golden Ws. They can substitute for any of the pay symbols, so they are rather useful in the grand scheme of things.

Kicking off the gameplay, we have the Refills feature, which is basically the game’s fancy name for your usual Avalanches or Cascades. Winning symbols automatically explode and disappear from the playing board, allowing new symbols to fall into the empty spaces. This can then lead to more wins, and it all continues until you fail to find a new winning combo.

Right next to the playing field, there’s the Progress Bar that looks like a safe and that ticks down from 100. Each winning symbol allows it to tick down by 1 point, and you’ll get one of four special effects for every 25 winning symbols. These are called Detonation, Reduction, Separation, and Promotion.

The Detonation effect will turn up to 6 symbols into Wilds while exploding symbols around them. Meanwhile, the Promotion effect will provide you with some symbol transformations, while the Separation effect will create a Wild symbol in the center of the field while transforming a number of symbols into matching ones. The Reduction effect then removes all low-paying symbols from the playing field, which naturally improves your chances of hitting a big win.

If you manage to get the Progress Bar down to 0, you’ll trigger the Safe feature. It will start by placing a 3x3 Wild symbol onto the playing board, which will then be divided into 2 2x2 symbols and 9 individual Wild symbols for a sweet payout potential.

Matching pay symbols aligned in 2x2 squares then automatically transform into Big Boss symbols that double as 2x win multipliers, and you can naturally get more than just one Big Boss symbol involved in a single win. Whenever that happens, you’ll get the win multipliers to multiply each other!

Another interesting detail is that one of the low-paying symbols is chosen at random at the end of each spin. These symbols will then start shining, and, if you get them involved in a winning combination, they will leave 2 Wild symbols behind.

Any spin without a win can also trigger the random Second Chance feature, which will turn a random number of symbols into Wilds in order to give you another shot at winning.

Finally, you can use the Buy Bonus options and unlock the safe for a fee of 100x your bet. Doing so will trigger the Safe feature with all the Wild shenanigans as outlined above.
