The studio is on a classic slots rampage, and they can’t seem to stop releasing more and more fruit-themed titles. Another one to complement the range of fruity games is Fruits 20 Deluxe, which follows the footsteps of the original Fruits 20 slot, but comes with bigger reels, expanded betting, and beefed-up gameplay.

On the outside, the Deluxe edition doesn’t differ a lot from its predecessor, except for the fact the reels are now bigger, 5x4 instead of standard 5x3. Yet, this doesn’t affect the number of win lines, as we still get 20 fixed ways to play across. Anyway, back to the looks, Fruits 20 Deluxe is pretty charming, with sharp graphics and lively animations. The actions take place somewhere amidst the jungles, which is quite odd for the theme, and on the reels, we see a range of familiar fruits, as well as a bunch of new special symbols, which we’ll cover shortly in the features section. Overall, it’s almost identical to its older brother, but there’s actually nothing to complain about since the game looks fairly nice. Indeed, why would you fix anything if it ain’t broken?

The Fruits 20 Deluxe offers a much more flexible betting range, with stakes varying from €0.1 at the lowest up to €100 at the highest, so there are plenty of options for any taste. The volatility is in the medium range, and the default RTP is above the average level at 96.23%. However, two other payback values are available as well, namely 93.18% and 88.54%, so be sure to read through the rules carefully before making a deposit. What’s weird though is that the maximum win capability has been lowered drastically. The previous Fruits 20 slot offered a 5,000x potential, and this one, however, offers only 2,000x.

Fruits 20 Deluxe Slot Features

The symbol collection consists of 7 regular symbols, including the 7’s, which are the top-paying symbols here, and a bunch of classic fruits, namely cherries, oranges, lemons, plums, grapes, and watermelons. Three or more of the same symbols landing adjacently on the reels starting from the leftmost create a winning combo, except for the cherries, which need only two. Five-of-a-kind fruit symbol wins are worth from 5x to 20x your bet, while the 7’s pay a staggering 250x your bet for combinations of five.

Unlike the original Fruits 20, the Deluxe version makes use of Wild and Scatter symbols, which produce bigger winning opportunities on each spin. Wild symbols are represented by bells, which are available on all reels except for the first. They act as substitutes for any of the regular symbols, helping you to achieve winning combos.

There are two different Scatter symbols, and both pay anywhere in view, meaning that they don’t have necessarily to land on adjacent reels. First if the Star Scatter, available on any of the reels. Landing 3, 4, or 5 simultaneously awards a fixed payout of 5x, 20x, or 100x the stake.

Next is the Diamond Scatter, which in turn can only appear on reels 1, 3, and 5. When 3 instances appear on the same spin, players receive an instant cash prize of 20x the stake.

Additionally, players can increase their winnings via the Gamble feature, which is offered after any payout you achieve. Two different options are available, Card and Ladder mini-games. In the first case, the objective is to guess the color or a suit of the next drawn card. Guess correctly, and your win will be doubled or quadrupled respectively. If you guess wrong though, all winnings will be lost.

In the Ladder gamble, you have a 50% chance of stepping up or down the ladder, which increases or lowers your prize respectively. You have 3 lives, and if you run out of lives or reach the bottom step of the ladder, you lose.

Review Summary

Well, Fruits 20 Deluxe is a questionable game for sure. On one hand, the developers give you expanded reels and add a bunch of features that provide additional wins. On the other hand, they mess up with the math model. What’s the point of all these adjustments if the winning potential has been cut down significantly? There’s no probably, so Fruits 20 Deluxe isn’t really worth taking your time at the end of the day.
