Fox Mayhem Review

The number of pigs on this farm isn’t all that impressive, at least not seemingly, but the one they have is certainly well fed. He’s gobbling up farm produce all the way, being totally clueless about the bacon-hungry fox that’s constantly lurking and waiting for the opportunity to pounce. A wolf would probably have been a better fit for the role of the predator in this game to be honest, but the visual presentation is charming and humorous nonetheless.

This is clearly not a game that’s aimed for hardcore gamblers, and it comes across as a fairly run of the mill effort. You get a standard hold and win style Prize Collection feature to break up the base game. It triggers more frequently in the free spins round, which also comes with instant prizes that can be boosted by up to x20. The 4,000x potential is decent, but Fox Mayhem will likely be forgotten pretty soon.

Fox Mayhem Slot Features

The premium symbols pay between 20 and 30 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the Wild symbol steps in for any pay symbol to help complete and/or improve line wins. The wild cannot substitute for cash and scatter symbols, however, and it also holds no value of its own in this game. On a final note regarding the symbols, the wild can only appear on reels 2 to 5.

You can land Cash Prize symbols with values up to 10x your stake, and you need 3 in view to trigger the Prize Collection feature. It’s a hold and win style feature where the triggering symbols are sticky, and you start with 3 respins.

Each new sticky cash symbol resets the respins tally to 3 again, and your total win is summed up when you run out of respins or fill the entire grid with cash symbols. This is how the feature ends, and filling the grid does not award any kind of special prize in this game.

The Bonus Round triggers when you land 3, 4, or 5 scatters in view, and this gives you 10, 12, or 15 free spins, respectively. Extra Cash symbols are added to the reel strips for the bonus round, which means that your Cash Collection chances are improved. The 3+ triggering cash symbols are added to your total win before being removed, and then the Prize Collection feature plays out like it does in the base game.

There’s more to the Cash symbols in the bonus round, however, as landing less than 3 in view gives you an instant prize that is equal to the sum total of the cash symbol values. You also get a random multiplier of x2, x5, x10, or x20, and it will boost any instant cash prize symbol wins accordingly. You cannot retrigger the bonus round, nor win extra spins, however.

Review Summary

We never had the impression that foxes tend to go after pigs, as you need a larger and meaner predator like the wolf for that. Pigs can be quite vicious after all, and a fox would hardly stand a chance against a bunch of them. Anyway, Fox Mayhem is a charming enough release, with cartoonish and hilarious visuals of the countryside drama. The pig in this game looks so harmless that it borders on helplessness, and you get a decent enough hold and win style prize collection feature on a semi-regular basis.

You’ll probably need the bonus round to truly make a dent, however, as the multiplier you get there can be quite helpful. Triggering the Prize Collection feature a few times will also help, of course, and this tends to happen once in a while. The 4,000x potential is decent for a mid-range game like Fox Mayhem clearly aims to be, and this is a shelf-filler release that will probably be forgotten sooner rather than later.
