You will recognize the soundtrack from the original Fishin' Pots Of Gold, but the developers have really gone to town when it comes to the visual presentation in this follow-up release. The Leprechaun is dressed up in a white suit with fancy purple sunglasses for the occasion, which seems like a strange choice for a river fishing expedition. The game will either lift your mood with all its colorful effects, or you will be completely turned off by it.

It’s also somewhat of a turn off that Fishin' Pots of Gold: Gold Blitz is, essentially, a remake of another slot. You can win up to 2,500x your stake from fish prize collection in the base game, which is decent, and the regular bonus round comes with multiplier wilds up to x5. The Gold Blitz™ feature guarantees a collector per spin, and only cash and/or jackpot prizes appear for a guaranteed win per spin. You have to be in the right mood to enjoy a far out game like this, but it can be good fun once in a while.

The premium symbols award between 2 and 5 x your stake for a 6 of a kind win, and the Mushroom Wild symbol steps in for any pay symbol to help complete and/or improve wins. Wilds can appear on reels 2 to 6 in the base game, and on reels 2, 3, and 4 in the bonus round. Wilds do not hold any value of their own in Fishin' Pots of Gold: Gold Blitz slot.

You can land the Leprechaun Collect symbol on any reel, and it will collect all cash and/or jackpot symbols in view. The cash symbols come with smaller prizes, while the jackpot symbols are worth 25x, 250x, and 2,500x your stake for the Minor, Major, and Mega jackpot, respectively.

Review Summary

Instead of simply making a follow-up to their previous leprechaun and fishing slot mashup, the developers have decided to clone someone else's work. Fishin' Pots of Gold: Gold Blitz is a straight up reskin of another slot, and they don’t seem too shy about it either. The game is a psychedelic trip to say the least, with dancing mushrooms and rainbow colors all over the place, and the main character looks like a Leprechaun version of Elton John.

The audiovisuals are very “in your face”, so you either love it or hate it, as there is no in-between with this game. Solid cash prizes can be collected also in the base game, and you get multiplier wilds in the free spins round. The Gold Blitz feature is the main attraction, however, and it’s admittedly fun to collect prizes on every spin. How big the prizes are will vary a lot, of course, but total wins up to 5,000x your stake is possible. The remake choice is a somewhat strange one, as it doesn’t take that much effort to make something a bit more original to avoid the reskin stamp.
