Festival 10K Ways Review
We thought we had seen it all when it comes to rehashing and recycling slots in this business, but they managed to take us by surprise with Festival 10K Ways. The game is visually identical to the asian-themed reskin job we reviewed recently. The features are the same as well, but they have lowered the volatility a notch, and also increased the RTP ever so slightly.
You’re looking at a twin release in other words, and the volatility is still at the higher end of medium. The visuals aren’t too impressive, even for an asian-themed release, and the base game comes with cascading wins and top reel wilds. The main attraction is the Hold & Win respins round, which comes with prizes up to 10,000x, and an overall max win of 12,309x your stake. We hope for the sake of the creators that this thing becomes a hit in Asia, cause it’s bound to be a dud in the west.
Festival 10K Ways Slot Features
The premium symbols pay between 2 to 100 x your stake for 6 of a kind wins, and the Wild Lion symbols appear on the horizontal top reel only. The wild lion steps in for pay symbols to help complete wins, and it does not hold any value of its own. Other than that you’re looking at a “one trick pony”, as this game has only one main bonus feature.
You need at least 6 scatters anywhere on the screen to trigger the streak respins Fortune Bonus, and it plays out like a regular hold and win feature. The triggering scatters become sticky on an otherwise cleared grid, and you start with 3 respins in your tally. Each new scatter that lands becomes sticky as well, and resets the tally to 3 again.
Only blanks, scatter prize symbols, or scatter jackpot symbols will land during the bonus round, and the regular scatter prizes vary between 1 and 100 x your stake. The jackpots consist of Mini, Minor, Major, Grand, or 10K prizes, and they pay 10x, 50x, 250x, 2,000x, or 10,000x your stake, respectively.
Finally, non-UK players, and anyone eligible, can purchase the bonus round for 60x the stake. This gives you 6 to 12 triggering scatters on the spin that follows.
The 200 Spins Festival 10K Ways Slot Experience
You get to see some near-miss bonus round teasers in the base game, as well as a few smaller wins here and there, before we finally trigger the feature right after the 1-minute mark. We got the minimum of 6 triggering scatters, and you can see for yourself how we fared by hitting the play button below.
Review Summary
It’s not too often you see a reskin of another reskin, but that’s what has been accomplished by releasing Festival 10K Ways more or less at the same time as another title. They are basically two identical asian slot twins with different names, and they are both reskins of another 10K Ways game. If nothing else, it gives you a hint about how “serious” they are about their 10K series, which hasn’t really taken off the way they probably hoped.
We get that they probably have an asian quota to fill, but ‘come on, man’ as Joe Biden likes to say. Another version of the same game with only slight changes to the math model is not gonna impress anyone. Nothing new to see here to say the least, but you can land decent payouts up to 12,309x your stake via jackpots on the bonus round. Hardly enough for a mainstream breakthrough, although anything is possible in the far East.
