Emerald's Infinity Reels Review
This game offers a fresh take on the Infinity Reels engine. They are playing it somewhat safe when it comes to the Leprechaun theme though, but the idyllic waterfall fits the bill as a vehicle for endless reels.
Unlike in other Infinity Reels titles, the screen remains static here. This might not please all fans of the engine, but it works pretty well once you’ve gotten the hang of it. The Leprechaun popping in to play his harp “all the time” gets a bit annoying after a while though, and especially on smaller win sequences. The bonus round elevates the whole experience above the few frustrating elements contained in the base game, and this makes Emerald's Infinity Reels well worth checking out.
Emerald's Infinity Reels Features
You trigger the Lucky Respins feature every time you land winning combo. The reels shift to the left, and the winning symbol from the reel that’s shoved out gets collected. The freshly added rightmost reel respin, and the feature goes on as long as you land new instances of the winning symbol. The 2x multiplier symbol, or the harp bonus symbol, also trigger another respin.
The 2x multiplier will double the number of collected winning symbols that make up your total win. If you have 3 collected symbols, you will get 6 instead, as an example. When you land a non-winning respin, the whole process starts all over again.
You trigger the Bonus Round when you collect at least 3 harp bonus symbols in the same respin sequence. You will get at least 12 free spins, with 2 extra free spins per bonus symbol you collect on top of the minimum of 3.
You will now collect winning symbols that remain sticky on the left-hand side table. You can therefore collect different symbols multiple times, and this all adds up to a total win in the end. Collect the 2x symbol to double all winning symbols you’ve collected thus far, and retrigger the bonus round by landing 3+ bonus symbols in the same respin sequence.
The 200 Spins Emerald's Infinity Reels Experience
After a while of base game grinding, we managed to rack up 5 bonus symbols in a single respin sequence. This gave us 16 free spins, and you can skip ahead to the feature at 1:15 into the 3-minute highlights video, if you wish. We will not reveal up front how much we got away with, but you’ll find out soon enough by hitting that play button.
Review Summary
First of all, kudos for trying something new with the Infinity Reels engine. The Symbol Collect system is actually kind of refreshing, but it comes with certain drawbacks also. Only collected symbols count, which might cause some frustration before you get used to it. Landing 3 bonus symbols on the reels, for example, doesn’t automatically mean you trigger the bonus round.
The symbols need to be pushed off reel 1 to be collected. This becomes more fun, and far less frustrating, during the free spins feature, when the collected symbols don’t reset between respin sequences. Get lucky with the 2x symbols, and you could land payouts as high as 10,000x your stake in this game. The irish luck theme might be a cliché, but it’s popular, and the waterfall reels makes for an idyllic scenery.
