This grid slot is based around the 4 elements of earth, air, fire and water. The 4 Element Wild modifiers impact the base game. However, you will get a lot of modifier noise for small wins a lot of the time.
This is due to the low symbol value, where 15 of the highest payers in a cluster awards "only" 20x your stake. The modifiers are capable of generating cascades, and this will benefit you in the progressive multiplier bonus round.
Slot Features
You need to connect 5 matching symbols in a cluster (horizontally or vertically) to win, and all winning symbols are removed from the grid via the Avalanche mechanic. New symbols will drop from above to fill the gap, and the process repeats as long as you keep landing new winning clusters.
The regular 7x7 grid is surrounded by the Element Area, where only Element Wilds will appear. There are 4 Element Wilds that come with unique modifiers, and you get up to 6 Element Wilds randomly placed on the Element Area per spin. They can also spontaneously manifest to be part of a winning combo.
The Element Wilds move clockwise around the grid per Avalanche, and Element Wilds that become part of a cluster win are activated. Each Element Wild activation increases the Element Meter by +1, and all activated Element Wild Modifiers play out at the end of an Avalanche sequence.
This will potentially help prolong your winning streak, and they play out on the following order:
- Fire Wild - adds 2 to 10 wilds randomly to the grid.
- X Flood - transform 9 symbols into matching symbols in an X shape. You can get 2 of this feature at the same time.
- Demolition - removes all instances of a randomly chosen low value symbol. This can happen up to 4 times on a single demolition trigger.
- Tornado - a whirlwind removes and/or transforms 8 symbols surrounding a randomly chosen symbol. They transform into the chosen symbol, and the feature can be activated twice.
You trigger the Bonus Round when you manage to activate all 4 Element Wilds in a single Avalanche sequence. You then get 5 free spins per default, and +1 free spin per activated Element Wild. A progressive multiplier increases with +1 per Avalanche in the bonus round, and it can go as high as 99x. You retrigger the bonus round by activating all 4 Elements Wild again, and there is no upper limit as to how many times you can do that.
The Experience
Triggering the wild modifiers is not exactly hard in this game, and we had plenty before we decided to purchase the bonus round.
Review Summary
Every ingredient needed for a grid slot has been included , but there are still a few drawbacks. The gameplay is kind of slow, and you will many times have to endure lengthy Avalanche/modifier sequences that hardly generate a return. That being said, at least many things are happening all the time here, so the base game never feels like a grind.
The fact that you don’t really “feel” the volatile nature of this game can be somewhat of a sneaky trap. The bonus buy option seems reasonably priced, and anything can happen with a progressive multiplier in play combined with all the modifying action. The 16,000x potential makes this an attractive prospect for sure, and fans of the grid slot genre have plenty of fun to look forward to here.
