Egyptian Tombs Review

We have visited our fair share of ‘egyptian tombs’ over the years (at least virtually), but luckily this game is unique both visually and featurewise. It’s not so often you get to see the pyramid of Giza at night, with a bright and clear full moon hanging over it. Anything that doesn’t involve another dusty tomb is refreshing to us, even if the title of the game indicates otherwise.

This game is mostly about the instant scatter prizes that are stacked up on the left-hand side. However, you can win quite a bit, and you also have random Super Spins to help you out. Even the bonus round is mostly about the scatter wins, as you will usually not get away with all that much in regular payouts.

Egyptian Tombs slot Features

The Eye of Horus pyramid Ra wild is worth the same as the highest paying Cleopatra symbol. Both award a good amount for 5 on a payline. The wild symbol steps in for all regular pay symbols, like wilds usually do.

The wilds are only active during Super Spins though, and this is a randomly triggered feature. You get extra Ra wilds, Cleopatra and Horus symbols during a Super Spin, and the Ra wild also serves as a scatter jackpot symbol during all stages of the game.

A bonus wheel spins to determine your number of free spins, and you will get between 8 and 50 spins. Land 3 scatters on a free spin to retrigger the bonus wheel, and get up to 50 extra spins. The only bonus round twist is an increased chance at triggering Super Spins.

Review Summary

The base game is basically an endless tease, where you land 3 to 4 Ra scatters on almost every spin. This is a bit too much for our liking, and it becomes annoying after a while, before you develop what best can be called “teaser blindness”. The Super Spins might give you an okay payout once in a while, but everything seems geared towards the scatter jackpots.

The bonus round is not all that hard to trigger, but it will usually not deliver what you would normally expect. Even with several retriggers, you will often get away with measly ‘keep-you-afloat’ amounts. Of course, getting plenty of free spins can be helpful when you chase the larger scatter jackpots, not least since the more frequent Super Spins come with added Ra scatter/wilds that might catapult you up the jackpot ladder.
