Drop ‘Em Review
Once again, we're taken on an adventure with the cartoon characters from their debut release; Stick ‘Em. The Can and the Mouse are a charming duo in the world of online slots, and they do not disappoint in Drop ‘Em either. The visuals are similar to the previous installment, Stack ‘Em, but a brand new Drop mechanic takes center stage in this release.
It comes in the form of a Drop symbol that removes all symbols below as it drops, and the remaining top gaps are filled with a randomly chosen matching symbol. It’s similar to the mystery symbol feature in some ways, and it can lead to payouts in all stages due to the win ways. The bonus rounds come with a symbol elimination system for the Drop feature, and you can win up to 10,000x your stake.
Drop ‘Em Slot Features
The premium symbols pay between 1.5 and 5 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and you can land Wild symbols anywhere to help complete and/or improve wins. Landing 5 wilds on the same win way awards 20x your stake, which makes the wild symbol the highest paying symbol by far.
You need at least 1 Drop Symbol present to trigger the Drop mechanic, and it plays out after any initial wins. The drop symbols remove all symbols below themselves as they drop down and off the grid, and symbols above will then drop down to fill the gaps. New symbols will then drop to fill the remaining top gaps, and this can be either a matching pay symbol or wilds in the base game.
You need 3 FS symbols in view to trigger the Drop Spins Bonus Round, and this gives you 10 free spins. Every pay symbol, as well as the wild, can be seen represented on the left-hand side, and one symbol will be selected to fill all empty positions when the Drop feature hits. Landing a FS symbol awards 1 to 3 extra spins, or an Upgrade symbol. The latter removes 1 to 10 pay symbols from the pool on the left, but the wild cannot be removed.
The High Drop Spins Bonus Round triggers when you land 4 FS symbols on the same base game spin, and this gives you 10 free spins as well. However, now only premium symbols and the wild are found in the choice pool seen on the left. The FS symbol removes 1 to 5 symbols (bar the wild) from the pool, or they provide 1 to 3 extra spins.
The Wild Drop Spins Bonus Round triggers from 5 FS symbols in view in the base game, and you get 10 free spins once again. Only the Wild symbol is present in the choice pool for this round, which means you always get wilds to fill the top gaps when the Drop feature hits. The FS symbol still provides 1 to 3 extra spins when it lands.
The Buy Bonus Menu is available in some jurisdictions, but not in the UK for sure. It comes with the following 5 options this time:
- BonusHunt FeatureSpins (very high volatility and top-tier RTP of 96.32 %) - pay 3x your stake to increase your bonus round chances by 5x.
- Big Drop FeatureSpins (very high volatility and top-tier RTP of 96.16 %) - pay 40x your stake to get at least 3 Drop symbols per spin.
- Mega Drop FeatureSpins (high volatility and top-tier RTP of 96.34 %) - pay 150x your stake to get at least 5 Drop symbols across all 5 reels per spin (win guarantee).
- Drop Spins (high volatility and top-tier RTP of 96.23 %) - pay 100x your stake to get 10 free spins with all symbols in the choice pool.
- High Drop Spins (very high volatility and top-tier RTP of 96.29 %) - pay 200x your stake to get 10 free spins with only premium symbols and the wild in the choice pool.
The 200 Spins Drop ‘Em Slot Experience
You get a brief taste of the base game, before we purchase the top-tier High Drop Spins bonus round at 0:42 into the 3:36-minute highlights video. We took it all the way to where only the high-value wild was was left in the choice pool, and this landed us at least one pretty solid win. You can check it all out for yourself by hitting the play button below.
Review Summary
It’s always fun to be reunited with the Can and his friend, the Mouse, and Drop ‘Em is bound to lift your mood from the get-go. Just watching the antics of these two cartoonish characters is good fun in and of itself, and the gameplay provides solid entertainment on top of that. The Drop mechanic is a clever innovation indeed, but it will seldom make a huge dent in the base game. It can, of course, and not least due to the high number of win ways.
We found it fascinating to purchase the Mega Drop featurespin, as it gives you a drop symbol on all 5 of the reels. This guarantees a win, and everything hangs on how high the drop symbols land, and what symbol is chosen. The 150x price tag isn’t a joke, however, but it was fun to try out in demo mode. Getting only wilds to fill the gaps in either of the bonus rounds is always the main goal, and it will always be the case in the rarely seen Wild Drop FS round. This can land you massive payouts up to 10,000x your stake, but beware the volatile beast that lurks beneath the charming exterior of this game.
