It's been a while since Flint, Frost, Switch, and Gobble have used their magic on the reels. Eight years, to be exact, since we first met them. The game will bring them back with the release of Dragonz 2 slot, and we were so eager that we tested the game.

Wildstorm Feature
The Wildstorm symbol may land on reels 2 and 4 only during the main game, and if it does, it'll pay 1x the bet and will trigger the Wildstorm Feature. It can also be activated via the Jackpot Wheel or bought via the Purchase Feature.
The Wildstorm Multiplier is displayed on top of the character jackpots and starts from 1x. Every time only one Wildstorm symbol lands, it can increment the multiplier by 0.50x up to 3x. The Wildstorm Multiplier increases the total win of the Wildstorm Feature.
The bonus is played within a single spin on an expanded grid with 5 reels, 4 rows, and 1,024 ways to win. Rolling Reels is deactivated, but up to 5 reels can become fully wild and award a massive prize.
Special Wilds
The Wild Multiplier symbols are active during the main game and Gobble Free Spins. Wilds that contribute to winnings can get a multiplier up to x6. It will be increased by x1 for every roll within the same spin.
The Locking Wild symbols can appear during the base game and Frost Free Spins. They become sticky for the duration of the respective spin's rolls. Locking Wilds do not land on reel 1 during the main game and appear on reel 3 only during the Frost Free Spins.

Besides having their own Free Spins bonuses, the charming little dragons also come with their unique, growing jackpots. Every time a Dragon lands in the base game carrying its own gem, it will contribute to the respective jackpot prize with an increment of 0.50x the bet:

On every gem collection, there is a chance for the Jackpot Wheel to activate. It will award one of the character jackpots or will activate the Wildstorm feature. If any pot is won, it will be reset to its starting value.
Free Spins Selection
Scatters are the key to the Free Spins bonus, and 3, 4, or 5 in view award a cash prize of 1x, 5x, or 25x the bet. The Selections screen provides 4 options, and players can choose from any of them, but combinations are sadly unavailable. Retriggers are possible within the same bonus mode.

Our Verdict
Dragonz 2 would seem like a completely new game if it weren't for the sweet Flint, Switch, Gobble, and Frost, and the 243-way-to-win board. The visual and sound updates compared to Dragonz are massive, which isn't surprising given the 8-year gap. I also appreciate the action-packed play and abundance of features.
Then again, the game doesn't make the impression I was expecting, but I blame the market nowadays. Random wild features, cascades, and modifiers during the bonus rounds are somehow taken for granted, and players, including me, expect innovation around every corner. Well, that's simply not possible, so my verdict is that Dragonz 2 is a very good slot game!
