Diner Delights Review

The restaurant slot genre doesn’t really contain all that many smash hits, and it’s a tough business both in the real world and in the world of online slots. This hasn’t stopped the developer from taking a stab at it though, and Diner Delights is admittedly a decent attempt if you can stand the micro-sized burgers and steaks on the 6x6 grid.

There is nothing revolutionary going on compared to previous releases from this developer, and you get cascading wins with a multiplier system as usual. The multiplier builds from multiplier symbols up to x5, and these are combined together to boost the total win from the cascading sequence. The multiplier never resets in the bonus round, which can lead to payouts up to 2,989x your stake.

Diner Delights Slot Features

You need between 8 and 15+ matching symbols anywhere in view to win, and the premium food item symbols pay between 1.5 and 10 x your stake for 15+ in sight. On the lower end, the same premium symbols award between 0.2 and 0.5 x your stake for 8-9 in view. Winning symbols explode via the Cascading mechanic, and this allows for indefinite extra wins as new and/or existing symbols drop down to fill the gaps.

You can land Multiplier symbols on any given spin or cascading spin, and these come with values of x2 to x5. All multiplier symbol values accumulated during a cascading sequence are added together in the end, and the sum total will then boost your total win from the sequence.

You need 3 scatters in view to trigger the Bonus Round, and this awards 10 free spins. You get +2 additional spins on top of that per additional triggering scatter above the minimum of 3. You also get +5 extra spins each time you land at least 2 scatters anywhere in the same cascading wins sequence during the feature.

The multiplier never resets during the bonus round, and all new multiplier symbol values are thus added to the previously achieved multiplier per spin. Non-UK players can purchase the bonus round for 75x the stake.

Review Summary

The problem with the food theme is that it can make you somewhat queasy when you’re already stuffed, and hungry for less-than-healthy food items if you’re not. Diner Delights is not the “worst” installment we’ve seen in that regard, but it was something about those tiny burgers and steaks (on a mobile screen) that didn’t quite sit well with us. This, of course, will be very individual from player to player, but it’s still worth a mention in our view.

The scatter cascading win system works well though, and it combines equally well with the multiplier symbol accumulation. Payouts up to 2,989x your stake can be achieved, most likely in the bonus round when the multiplier never resets, and this happened once in 1 billion simulated spins. A decent potential for a mid-level slot, and the 5,000x advertised max win is an improvement from the wildly exaggerated numbers used to throw around.
