Desperate Dawgs Review

Visually, Desperate Dawgs might be somewhat of an upgrade since their debut title, but that’s really not saying much. It still looks like something you could stumble upon in an old computer, and it’s hard to tell whether or not this is supposed to be an intentional nostalgic “feature”. It certainly sticks out, and the best we can say about it is that it might be an acquired taste.

The soundtrack is decent enough however, and the bandit dog theme is kind of fun. The base game is mostly uneventful, but you have 3 different bonus games to brighten things up a bit. It’s kind of fun to crack safe codes in the Bank Buster feature, and the progressive multiplier bonus round can be somewhat thrilling at times. This is especially true if you retrigger it at least once, as you will then start with a 10x multiplier that keeps growing per spin.

The base game comes with a regular wild symbol, and this will step in for all pay symbols to help you form winning combinations. Other than that, you have 3 different bonus features to look forward to here, one for each of the “desperate dawgs”. They trigger around every 114 spins on average, and play out as follows:

This game looks like a 90s computer game, which might offer nostalgic value to some players, but it will hardly be everyone’s cup of tea.

The base game offers nothing but the occasional wild win. However, the 2 bonus games, as well as the bonus round, gives you some variety to look forward to. Especially the free spins feature can offer some thrills here, due to the multiplier increase per spin. The 3,902x potential is also pretty decent, not least when you factor in the casual low/medium volatility and the relatively high bonus feature hit rate.
