Deep Descent Review
Diving takes you into a peaceful and calm subsea world where all sounds are muffled, and you can forget about the worries of the world for a while. This tranquil atmosphere has been captured almost too well in Deep Descent, and you might get so “relaxed” that you nod off with the autoplay switched on.
It’s all about landing wilds to trigger up to 5 sticky wild respins, and collecting randomly chosen low-value symbols takes you down to depth level 2 and 3. Visually, there isn’t all that much to see down there except the same cartoon-style fish symbols, but with expanded reels and more win ways you can pocket up to 18,814x your stake on a very lucky respins streak.
Deep Descent Slot Features
The yellow submarine window thing serves as the wild symbol in this game, and it will open the “window” to reveal a number between 2 and 5. This is the number of sticky wild respins you get, and new wilds tend to land to prolong your respins sequence.
In the top-left corner you’ll see a random low-value symbol being chosen on every regular spin. If the chosen symbol is part of a winning combo, all the symbols are collected in this meter. Filling the meter with 7 symbols in a single spin, or in a respin sequence, takes you to the second diving depth level.
On the second depth level, an additional row is added to the grid, increasing the number of win ways from 243 to 1,024. A wild is also added to the grid, to continue your respins streak that hopefully takes you to the third and final depth level.
You will need to collect 21 new chosen winning symbols for this to happen, however. This adds a 5th row to the grid, which now has 3,125 win ways. A new wild is added also, and now it’s all about staying for as many respins as possible to rack up a solid win.
The 200 Spins Deep Descent Slot Experience
We collect the first 7 chosen symbols needed just as the 3-minute highlights video starts, and this takes us down to the second depth level. The respins winning streak continues all the way to the third depth, and you can see for yourself how it all went by hitting the play button below.
Review Summary
The fact that the same developer that gave us Money Train 2 also released this sloppy diving expedition is hard to believe. The developer is miles away from the consistency of say, NoLimit City, but then again, most developers are. You will mostly land dead spins between sudden longer wild respin winning streaks, that may or may not take you all the way to the 3rd depth level.
Despite the 18,814x potential, which seems far-fetched to be honest, the game lacks excitement and punch. The 95 % RTP doesn’t exactly help either, and once you’ve seen the third depth (which offers nothing visually exciting at all), you will probably not feel very inclined to return to this game anytime soon. We know you can do a lot better, and this only adds to the disappointment.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Wild respin streaks | Drowsy gameplay gets boring quick |
| 3 depths with row expansion | 95 % RPT is well below average |
| Win up to 18,814x your stake |
