The small UK-based indie studio has recently been incorporated into a program, and Crystal Falls Multimax is their first release under the wings of a more experienced developer. It seems heavily influenced by another game, the young apprentice does not come close to dethroning the source of inspiration.
Visually, Crystal Falls Multimax comes across as cheap and somewhat dated, and the base game lacks any real excitement. You can switch on the Encure ante bet to trigger the all-important bonus round more often, but the 50 % extra you pay per spin seems a bit steep. Not least since you can only win up to 4,106x your stake in this version, compared to 10,513x your stake in another game (which also comes with a far better RTP).
Crystal Falls Multimax Features
You can choose to switch on the Encore ante bet feature at any time between spins, and this increases your bonus round chances. It will cost you 50 % more per spin however, but it increases your likelihood of triggering the bonus round from 1 in 140 spins to 1 in 62 spins.
All winning symbols are removed from the reels via the Cascading Wins feature, and new symbols drop down to fill the gaps. This process repeats as long as you keep winning. On the left-hand side you’ll find a progressive Cascading Wins Trail, and it leads to different tiers of the bonus round.
You need 4 consecutive cascading wins to win the minimum of 7 free spins, while 4 more consecutive wins award 10, 12, 18 and 25 free spins, respectively. With the Encore switched on, you get a respin when you land a non-winning spin on the 2nd and/or 3rd cascade, thus increasing your free spins chances.
You’ll see a multiplier starting at x1 above each reel during the Bonus Round, and these multipliers increase individually by +1 for each wild that lands on a reel. The reel multipliers involved in a win combine to boost the payout, and the Cascading Free Spins Trail is still active during the feature. Land 3 cascades to win +2 free spins, and you get 7, 10, 12, 18 or 25 extra spins on the respective consecutive tiers above that.

Review Summary
The budding apprentice has clearly allowed themselves to be inspired by the original game, and the result is not very convincing, unfortunately. Crystal Falls Multimax comes with an uninspired audiovisual presentation, not least if you compare it to the source of inspiration. The game pace is also a bit rigid and staccato, which might bother some players.
There is no reel multiplier in the base game here, but the bonus round comes with the possibility for extra spins. That doesn’t really help all that much though, when the max win is capped at a mediocre 4,106x your stake. If you enjoy the feature on offer here, you’re much better off going with the original game, which offers more than twice the potential, solid theoretical returns, as well as far better overall production value.
