Good old block-stacking games, eh? The game that everyone at some point in their life has had an unhealthy obsession with. Nothing quite beats the satisfying sight of slotting those shapes into place to make nice neat rows. Although, by the same token, nothing is quite as frustrating as missing a row to leave a blank space. It’s a simple game, but it can bring out the best and the worst in all of us. This game will give players the chance to relive all of that linear satisfaction while playing for monetary wins, complete with all of the colourful blocks of the original game.

Admittedly, this game isn’t the most advanced on the visual side of things. But then again, it doesn’t need to be and it is actually more authentic with its simple arcade aesthetic.

How does it work?

The first thing that you’ll notice about Cash Blox is the fact that it doesn’t really work like an ordinary game does. Because instead of having 5 reels with a set of paylines, this game presents players with a game screen with a 10x15 square grid – just like real block-stacking games. And just like the retro classic game, players will witness a series of shaped blocks fall into position on this grid, the only difference being that they are powerless to control how they line up on the grid. Whether you can sit back and watch while this happens or if you find it frustrating to see such mayhem and chaos is definitely a test to determine whether you have certain tendencies or not!

Get paid for playing

You may be thinking, how does this game provide winning prizes? Well, essentially, players will collect wins every time that a full line of blocks is formed on the grid. What’s more, the size of those wins depends on whether these lines are single, double, triple or quadruple as well as how many times a certain type of line appears. .

So, for example, a player places a bet of 1 credit and presses play, causing the blocks to fall in random combinations. If one single line appears then it will award a 0.10 credit return. If another single line appears then it will pay an extra 0.40 credits, while a third single line will go for 2 credits more and a fourth single line will pay a further 10 credits. On the other hand, one double line will turn a single credit stake into a 2 credit prize, with a second double adding 8 credits, a third adding 40 credits and a fourth adding an extra 200 credits to the winning total.

This may sound a bit confusing at first, but the prizes are all laid out for you to see in a paytable next to the playing grid. Plus, the prizes will automatically update to correspond to the chosen bet. Available wagers range from as little as 0.10 per go to the maximum stake of 10. The biggest jackpot prize is a 4000x total bet multiplier which is awarded when four quadruples appear during one turn. Therefore, players could ultimately win 40,000 credits from a 10 credit total bet.

There isn’t much in the way of extra bonus action in this game. However, players can earn some free games if they are lucky. In order to do this, players simply have to form a complete line with the multicoloured “Magic Block”. If this happens, 10 freeplays will be awarded with all wins doubled in value.

A truly retro game

Cash Blox is a great little retro themed game which might just take players back in time with its nostalgic theme. While this isn’t strictly a regular game, it is still fairly easy for any bettor, old or new, to get their head around.
