Caribbean Anne 2 Review
It’s been a few years since the original was released, and Caribbean Anne 2 is vastly superior in the audiovisual department. The treasure island environment is immersive. Even though the two games are only a couple of years apart, it looks like decades if you compare them next to each other.
The gameplay still revolves around the Locked Wild Respin feature, where Anne lands to frame positions and increase their respective multiplier values. Instead of a fixed 10 spins cycle however, you will now frame positions until a cannon symbol lands. The bonus round comes with indefinite free spins as you build up evermore multiplier wild frames, and you’re guaranteed 3 respin triggers before the feature ends.
Caribbean Anne 2 Features
The Wild symbol steps in for all regular pay symbols to help you complete winning combos, and it also pays 5x your stake for 5-oak wins. The regular pirate premiums pay between 0.75 and 1 x your stake for the same, and wilds play a central part in both the main features of this game.
The pistol-toting Anne accumulation wild does not hold any value of its own, but she leaves a sticky Wild Frame in place whenever she lands. Landing the Anne wild inside a Wild Frame increases the multiplier on all wild frames currently present by +1. The wild frame multipliers can go up to x30 at the most.
Whenever you land a blue cannon anywhere in view, you trigger the Locking Wild Respin feature. The cannon leaves a final wild frame in place as the feature triggers, or it adds +1 to all wild frame multipliers if it lands within a wild frame. All the non-framed positions spin again, and all framed positions turn into multiplier wilds for that respin. Everything resets once the respin is over with, and the cycle starts anew.
Whenever you land 3 treasure chest scatters anywhere in view, you trigger the Bonus Round with a 1x scatter win up front. You get unlimited free spins, as the feature lasts until you’ve triggered the Locking Wild Respin feature 3 times. All wild frames remain in place between Locking Wild Respin triggers, making the final respin potentially the most lucrative.
You can land 2 special cannon symbols in the bonus round only, and these are as follows:
- +1 Cannon - increases all the wild frame multipliers by +1, before triggering the respin feature.
- 2x Cannon - doubles all wild frame multipliers, before the feature is triggered.
Non-UK players, and anyone playing from an eligible jurisdiction, may take advantage of the HyperBonus feature. You can buy 4 different variants of the bonus round, and these are as follows:
- 2 guaranteed Respin triggers - costs 19.55x your stake (RTP 96.9 %).
- 3 guaranteed Respin triggers - costs 58.55x your stake (RTP 96.96 %).
- 4 guaranteed Respin triggers - costs 148.5x your stake (RTP 97.05 %).
- 5 guaranteed Respin triggers - costs 330.25x your stake (RTP 97.16 %).
The 200 Spins Caribbean Anne 2 Experience
You get to see a typical base game Locking Wild Respin trigger at the very start, and we get the bonus round not long after. The feature plays out for the rest of the 2 and a half minutes highlights video, and we managed to rack up some decent multiplier frames before the third and final respin. Review Summary
While the original Caribbean Anne looked like a computer game from the mid/late 90s, the immersive treasure island world you’re taken into in this follow-up is on a whole new level. The game still centers around the Wild Frame build-up, but this time you’re not bound by 10 spin cycles. Racking up a respectable number of frames, with a solid multiplier to boot, is therefore more likely to happen once in a while also in the base game.
Many times the wild frames are spent rather quickly though, but at least you get a varied base game experience. The bonus round now comes with indefinite spins, limited by 3 locking wild respin triggers. The original game offers a fixed amount of frame collection spins, followed by a fixed amount of sticky multiplier wild spins. The 14,100x potential is a solid 14x increase (not counting the jackpots), but the RTP is significantly higher in the original. It’s still well above average in this sequel however, so no complaints really.

If you love Caribbean Anne 2 you should also try:
Caribbean Anne - is the original release, and it’s visually inferior to the game at hand. The 97.83 % RTP is quite exceptional however, and the wild frame feature can still create some tense moments, not least in the bonus round. You also have 4 jackpots up for grabs in this version, and the platinum jackpot is worth 5,000x your stake.
Dead Man's Trail - is a visually pleasing buccaneer-themed release , and it comes with 5x4 reels and 40 win ways. The big highlight is the treasure island trail bonus game, where 11 unique modifiers can wreak havoc to the tune of 50,000x your stake.
Booty Bay - is a pirate slot that plays out on a 5x5 grid with a cluster pays engine. Land booty wilds in the 3x3 middle hotzone, and trigger indefinite respins with roaming wilds that come with a progressive multiplier. There are multiple ways into this feature, and you can win up to 20,000x your stake.
