It feels like the installments in this series are close together, but the original was released back in 2020. A follow-up hit the market in late 2021, and now, in mid 2023, they’ve released a 3rd installment called Candyways Bonanza 3. The visuals are similar, of course, but this time the dynamic grid is floating in the air with floating candy islands in the backdrop.

It plays out on a dynamic grid with a top horizontal tracker reel, and this reel does more than simply slide in symbols. Symbols can become highlighted on the top reel, and this leads to wild transformations on the main grid. Even full wild reels are possible, and the bonus round comes with 3 special symbols that build your win multiplier or add to your win. The 20,000x potential is the same as in the first game. Overall, Candyways Bonanza 3 is worth a closer look, for candyland fans.

Candyways Bonanza 3 Slot Features

You can turn on the Super Stake ante bet between base game spins, and this will effectively double your stake per spin. The benefit is more scatters added to the reel strips, which increases your bonus round chances by an unspecified amount. The symbols pay between 0.7 and 10 x your stake for 6 of a kind wins, and wild symbols step in for any and all pay symbols to help complete and/or improve wins.

Winning symbols are removed via the Cascading mechanic, and new and/or existing symbols will then drop down to replace the removed symbols. This fills the grid with symbols, and the process repeats for as long as you keep winning.

The Wild Booster feature can trigger at random times, and you will then see 1 to all 4 symbols on the top horizontal reel being highlighted. This turns all instances of all highlighted symbol types into wild symbols on the main grid. Wilds can also be highlighted on the top tracker reel, and this turns all symbols on the reel below into wilds.

The Bonus Round triggers when 4, 5, or 6 scatters appear anywhere in view, and this awards 10, 12, or 14 free spins, respectively. The bonus round comes with 3 different modifier symbols, and these are as follows:

• Candy Bomb Multiplier - lands with a random value between x2 and x15, and the sum total of all candy bombs will boost the total win from the cascading sequence.
• Candy Bomb Mystery - all instances of this mystery symbol are revealed at the end of the round, and each symbol adds between 18x and 100x to your total win.
• Candy Bomb Epic - each instance boosts the achieved collected multiplier by x2 to x5.

You can retrigger the bonus round by landing 4, 5, or 6 scatters in the same cascading sequence, and this gives you +5, +6, or +7 free spins, respectively.

The Bonus Buy menu is available in some jurisdictions, but not in the UK for sure. It comes with 4 different options as follows:

• Pay 100x your stake to get 10 free spins.
• Pay 150x your stake to get 12 free spins.

This candyland series has come a long way since its humble beginnings as a 3-reels game. You get more features and modifiers in Candyways Bonanza 3. The base game is livened up by the Wild Booster feature, which provides both random wilds and full wild reels (on more rare occasions). It basically replaces the mystery symbols feature from the second installment, which also produced wild reels.

While gave you 3 bonus round options of different ranges of multiplier symbols, Candyways Bonanza 3 gives you 3 different special symbols instead. These will either help build the win multiplier, or add to your total win. The 20,000x potential is in the upper range of what you normally get from this engine. Candyways Bonanza 3 is overall a strong release, but we’re unsure if we can handle more sugar for a while now.
