Buffalo Canyon Review
The studio's portfolio includes buffalo-themed titles. This game is built on the Megapixel Pays system.
The Megapixel Pays mechanic uses similar gameplay and features, transporting players to the canyons of America. Aside from the skin, little has changed in the new release. The game looks stunning. The sound aspect is also on spot, adding a final touch to the immersive atmosphere.
Dominating the view is a grid consisting of 2,400 dots, or pixels. On each spin, symbols are randomly placed on the screen that may overlap dots on the grid. Whenever a symbol lands on the grid, it charges up the dots. There are 7 different dot levels - grey, green, blue, purple, pink, orange, and yellow - and the higher the dot level, the bigger will be the payout.
Each symbol may appear as a grey, blue, or purple symbol, upgrading the dots it overlaps by 2, 3, or 4 levels respectively. However, after each spin, all dots not overlapped by any symbol will downgrade by 1 level, up to a minimum of level 1. Keep in mind that only fully visible symbols award a payout. When such a symbol appears, all dots it overlaps contribute points to the payout as follows:
- Level 3 dots contribute 1 point each.
- Level 4 dots contribute 3 points each.
- Level 5 dots contribute 10 points each.
- Level 6 dots contribute 25 points each.
- Level 7 dots contribute 100 points each.
Moreover, each symbol has an associated point multiplier. Upon receiving a win, all points contributed by the dots are multiplied by the respective point multiplier. The total amount awarded for each symbol is equal to the sum of all points from dots overlapped by that symbol divided by 100, rounded down, and then multiplied by the bet multiplier. The system may seem complicated at first, but you'll quickly get what's what after several game rounds.

Players drop in by setting bets from €0.2 to €400 per spin, which should appeal to many. The Buffalo Canyon slot is powered by a medium volatile math model, while the RTP is solid at standard 96%. The hit rate is decent at 22%, meaning that nearly every fourth spin should theoretically be a winning one. As for the wins, the maximum payout is 1,101x the stake. Not a deal-breaking amount, but it's still OK given the risk involved.
Buffalo Canyon Slot Features
Tiny crystal symbols are Scatters, and when 3 or more instances appear anywhere on the grid during the base game, that activates the Free Spins feature. Landing 3, 4, or 5 triggering symbols awards 12, 16, and 20 free spins respectively. The bonus game plays out in a similar way to the base game, but a major difference is that dots don't downgrade during the feature. However, dot levels are not carried over to the bonus upon the trigger, and you start at level 1. Unfortunately, retriggers are not possible.
Review Summary
All up, Buffalo Canyon plays out in a somewhat different and unique way, providing utterly new gameplay for the players. It's a perfect option for those who want to take a break from common slots and get new experiences. With that said, it definitely leans towards unmissable for gamblers into the buffalo thing!
