Brilliant Diamonds: Hold & Win Review
We have to confess that the luxury genre is not really our favorite theme, and especially not combined with a superficial and glitzy approach. This is what you get in Brilliant Diamonds: Hold & Win however.
This release has shelf-filler written all over it, and there is nothing new to see here for punters with the slightest bit of experience. A random Diamond Modifier dishes out decent wins once in a while, or the all-important Hold & Win feature, and it’s possible to enter the feature with or without a global win multiplier. Jackpots up to 1,000x is the best you can hope for without a multiplier, although the overall potential is 5,440x your stake.
Brilliant Diamonds: Hold & Win Slot Features
The luxury premium symbols pay between 6 and 16 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the Wild symbol always lands fully stacked. The stacked wild can appear on any reel, and the wild steps in for all regular pay symbols to help complete winning combinations. The wild itself pays the same as the top-tier private jet symbol.
The Diamond Modifier can trigger at random times in the base game, and it will literally rain diamonds over the reels when it does. You are then guaranteed a larger win above 20x your stake, or the Hold & Win bonus round. Regular platinum diamond symbols may also be transformed into gold multiplier diamonds via this feature.
You need 5+ platinum and/or gold diamond symbols anywhere in view to trigger the Hold & Win feature, and you start with 3 respins in the tally. The triggering symbols are sticky, and only new diamonds or blanks can land on the otherwise cleared grid. Any new diamonds that land reset the respins tally to 3 again, and they also lock in place like the triggering symbols.
The feature ends, and your total winnings are summed up, when you either run out of respins, or you manage to fill all 15 positions with diamonds. In addition to regular cash value diamonds, you can also land Minor, Major and Grand Jackpot diamonds. These pay 20x, 200x or 1,000x your stake, respectively, but there is no jackpot or reward for filling the grid.
If you triggered the feature with at least one multiplier gold diamond, you’ll get a multiplier for the duration of the Hold & Win round. Each triggering gold diamond you get increases the feature multiplier by +1, but gold diamonds cannot land during the actual Hold & Win feature. Finally, non-UK players, and anyone eligible, can pay 50x the stake for the feature via the Bonus Buy option (RTP 96.9 %). The feature triggers organically every 116 spins on average.
The 200 Spins Brilliant Diamonds: Hold & Win Slot Experience
You get a decent taste of the base game, before we purchase the Hold & Win feature at 1:30 into the 3:10-minute highlights video. Not that it matters all that much, but we didn’t even come close to filling the grid, and you’ll have to hit the play button below to see for yourself whether or not we landed any of the 3 possible jackpots.
Review Summary
The luxury wealth-theme is already extremely superficial in and of itself, and this notion is further enhanced by a run-of-the-mill approach. Brilliant Diamonds: Hold & Win adds another less-than-memorable streak respins style installment to a pile that’s growing rapidly by the day.
They do have some pretty solid Hold & Win games under their belt, to be fair, but we don’t see Brilliant Diamonds: Hold & Win as one of them. The random Diamond modifier may take you into the all-important Hold & Win feature, which is a very standard bonus where a multiplier may bump your jackpot prizes up to 5,440x in total, at best. If you enjoy glitzy, superficial luxury, combined with a very standard feature, you might wanna give this one a whirl.
