Brawl At The Red Cap Inn Review
Placing trolls and vikings in the same pub is asking for trouble, and as the title more than indicates, you’ll get plenty of that in Brawl At The Red Cap Inn. The folksy, ‘sea shanty’ soundtrack alone is worth a spin or ten, and it really sets the tone and atmosphere in a perfect way. The visual presentation is overall very good also, but the brawling concept could have been taken even further.
You’ll get plenty of beer mugs being hurled between the 2 reel sets on more or less every spin, but many times the wilds being generated are not all that effective. We miss some kind of expanded walking wild brawl feature, but the bonus round can get quite “wild” when all the wilds being generated become sticky. Overall, a pretty solid effort, but the base game gets a bit tedious with all the hiccups after a while.
Brawl At The Red Cap Inn Features
The Wild Swap feature is something you’ll see a lot of in this game, and it triggers every time a wild lands on either of the 2 reel sets. You’ll see a wooden beer mug being thrown per wild that lands, and it hits the corresponding symbol position on the opposite reel set. This transforms the affected symbol(s), and turns them into wilds too. If you land wilds on the same position on both reel sets on the same spin, they turn into x5 multiplier wilds.
Even scatters can be transformed into wilds, but they still count when it comes to triggering the Bonus Round. The Held Wild Free Games feature requires at least 5 scatters to trigger, and this awards 10 free spins. You can retrigger the feature the same way, and all wilds and x5 multiplier wilds that land become sticky for the duration of the feature.
The 200 Spins Brawl At The Red Cap Inn Experience
Beer mugs are being hurled almost all the time in the base game, and we trigger the bonus round at the 1-minute mark into the 3 and a half minute highlights video. We managed to rack up quite a few sticky wilds during the Held Wild Free Games feature, and you can see for yourself how we fared by hitting the play button below.
Review Summary
We love the concept and the soundtrack in this game, and a good job has been done with the visual presentation too. Pitching trolls against vikings in a pub setting is good fun, and the beer mugs being thrown around all the time brings the bar brawl concept to life in a somewhat unique way. It breaks up the base game grind a bit too often perhaps, as many times you’ll have to wait for the animation to play out with little to nothing to show for it.
This will change when you trigger the bonus round, of course, as each wild and/or x5 multiplier wild becomes sticky for the duration of the feature. This can lead to plenty of solid payouts, all the way up to the 9,674x win cap. Players looking for a jolly good time on a Friday or Saturday night with a couple of cold ones are bound to find just that in Brawl At The Red Cap Inn. The base game can get tedious after a while though, and could have been better with a cascading wins sticky wild system.
