Review of the Game

Some releases are worth a look. With that in mind, we explored the game. Its title sounds promising, but does this 5x3 slot with 10 paylines truly deliver?

Thematically, players can set sail to some dangerous waters, and the game’s background displays a ship's deck. That’s acceptable, but the user interface and the game’s symbols appear quite dated, so we're not particularly excited about the overall visual quality. The game has an old feel rather than being a modern online slot, which might be a problem for many players.

The mathematical model of the game has a high volatility level and a respectable 5,000x jackpot. That’s quite good, especially since the betting range is also broad. The minimum bet is £0.10, but high rollers can increase the wager to as much as £100 per game round if they wish. Game Features

There are nine pay symbols in the game, with 5 low pays and 4 high pays. The game’s low pays are uninspired, only showing card ranks from Tens to Aces. Conversely, the high pays are more thematic, featuring cannons, compasses (or perhaps emblems?), ships, and admirals. To secure a win, you need to line up 3 or more matching symbols on one of the active paylines.

The Book symbol is the game’s only special symbol, and it functions as both its Wild and its Scatter. It functions as a Wild only in the base game, but it continues to function as a Scatter even during free spins.

To access free spins, you need to find 3, 4, or 5 Book symbols anywhere in view. This will activate the Free Spins feature with an initial set of 10 free spins. Before they begin, the game will randomly select one of the pay symbols. This symbol will act as a special expanding symbol during the feature. This means that it will be able to expand vertically and even pay out in combinations that aren’t fully adjacent. We've encountered this before, so you likely already understand how it works. The only unique aspect here is that retriggers are possible, and they always introduce an additional expanding symbol. Retrigger the feature enough times, and you could have as many as 9 expanding symbols at once!

In summary, the game is an average "Book of" slot with unimpressive visuals. It's not terrible, but it's uncertain why anyone would particularly want to play it. We’ve experienced this before, and there are numerous similar – and even superior – online slots available. Unless you have a strong desire to see a “Book of” slot with ships and admirals, you won’t be missing out on anything by avoiding this release.
