This game comes with horrific, yet hilarious, visuals. The river creatures chase the swimming symbols, leaving nothing but the skeleton behind (as well as wilds).

This feature keeps the base game alive, and there are plenty of other bonus features as well. The free spins round comes with a choice of piranha wilds per spin, and there is also the LockNWin and LockNWin Jackpot bonuses. Coins are collected to eventually trigger a Jackpot Wheel, and all the features are capable of landing you payouts up to 5,000x your stake.

Blazing Piranhas Slot Features

The low-value piranha symbols pay between 1 and 1.4 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, while the 4 premium character symbols pay between 7 and 25 x your stake for the same. You can land multiple Piranha Wilds at the same time, and they move left to gobble up any character symbol that lands to the left of them on the same row. They leave new wilds in their wake, and the character symbol, or what’s left of it, also turns wild for the current spin. Wilds step in for all pay symbols to help complete and/or improve wins.

The LockNWin Bonus triggers from 6+ coin symbols in view, and this gives you 3 respins on a cleared 5x4 sized grid where the triggering symbols are already sticky. You can unlock up to 3 extra rows via 1, 2, and 3 Key Coin symbols, respectively, and regular cash coins come with values between 1 and 12 x your stake. The Jackpot LockNWin feature plays out on a grid where different jackpot coins land. You need 3 matching jackpot coins on the same row to win the corresponding prize, and these are the Micro, Mini, Minor, Major, and Mega jackpots. They are worth 15x, 25x, 100x, 500x, or 5,000x your stake, respectively, and the Mega Jackpot can also be won by filling all positions (including the 3 initially locked rows) in the regular LockNWin feature.

You need at least 3 scatter symbols in view to trigger the Free Spins Bonus Round, and this gives you a choice of 4 different options depending on the number of triggering scatters. Here is an overview:

• 3 scatters lets you choose between 5, 7, 10, or 12 free spins with 6, 5, 4, or 3 wilds, respectively.
• 4 scatters lets you choose between 10, 14, 20, or 24 free spins with 6, 5, 4, or 3 wilds, respectively.

Review Summary

This game follows in the same vein as a horror comedy. The same can be said about the piranhas theme, and it’s good fun seeing these mean little creatures leave nothing but bones behind after a piranha wild feeding frenzy. Horror comedies were a big thing in the 80s, so older players may also appreciate the nostalgia.

It cannot be denied that this game is pretty similar to the predecessor release mentioned above, but it’s far from a simple reskin job. The base game piranha wild feature is different, and the same goes for the free spins round. The LockNWin and Jackpot LockNWin features are more or less the same though. You can still win up to a solid 5,000x your stake, and we have a feeling that persistence will pay off.
