Racing Review

This studio doesn’t really have all that many blockbuster releases to its name. The Racing slot that we’ll take a closer look at in this review won’t change that one bit, but could it nonetheless be worth playing? Well, we’ll find that out soon enough, and we’ll start by saying that it all takes place on a classic playing field with 5 reels, 3 rows and 10 paylines.

Racing has always been a big topic in sports betting, but it hasn’t made all that many appearances in online slot gaming just yet. Racing utilizes it rather well, however, and what we have here is a game that has both thematic graphics and thematic bonus features. Its production values are just about average, but, well, racing fans don’t have a lot of slots to choose from anyway!

Mathematically speaking, Racing is a medium volatility slot with a 1,000x jackpot. You can enjoy it for stakes between £0.10 and £100 per game, but its default theoretical RTP is only 92.33%, which is well and truly awful.

Racing Slot Features

There are as many as 14 pay symbols in the Racing slot, and it’s possible to divide them into 5 low pays, 4 mid pays, and 5 high pays. For low pays, there are your usual card ranks from Tens to Aces, while the game’s mid pays show objects related to the main theme. Finally, the slot’s high pays feature 5 different characters. As you’d expect, you have to land 3 or more matching symbols on one of the game’s paylines, from left to right, to get a winning combination.

In terms of specials, there are just Wilds, and they are rather important in the grand scheme of things.

You see, each character symbol that lands alongside a Wild transforms into a Character Wild symbol. It also gets collected to the rank list that’s placed on the left side of the game screen, and your goal is to collect 25 Character Wilds and trigger the Racing Bonus feature.

Then, you’ll get to predict the winner of a race, with each character having a different chance of winning that corresponds with the amount of the corresponding Character Wilds collected. To get a prize, you have to pick a character that finishes third or better.

As you participate in multiple races, there are also 3 jackpots that you can win by completing various achievements. To that effect, there are 3 progress bars placed at the bottom of the game screen that show how close – or far – you are from grabbing one of those jackpots.

The 3-Pot prize is worth 20x your bet, and you can land it by getting 3 consecutive top 3 predictions. The 5-Pot prize is worth 50x your bet, and you can land it by getting 5 consecutive top 3 predictions. Finally, the 6-Win prize is worth 1,000x your bet, but you can only land it by correctly predicting the winners of 6 consecutive races.

Review Summary

Although we enjoy Racing’s theme and gameplay, we are seriously disappointed by its poor math model that comes with such an awful RTP that we can’t recommend the game to anyone that cares about the mathematical side of things. It’s a massive shame, but we can’t sugarcoat things in any way.
