Big Max Pots and Pearls Review
A new addition to the Big Max slots collection with the Pots and Pearls edition. This game is built on popular mechanics, and players will benefit from streak-style respins with jackpots.
The design is similar to others in the series, with jackpots listed on top of the screen. We see the same symbols, simple red-colored wallpaper, and in the center is a standard 5x3 reel setup.
This time, the reels offer five times more ways to win, and symbols create winning combinations across 50 lines. There are 8 pay symbols included - they are in ascending order cherries, lemons, oranges, plums, bars, watermelons, grapes, and red lucky sevens. All symbols pay from 3-of-a-kind and more, and combinations of five are worth from 1x to 40x the bet.
Bet levels vary from £0.1 at the lowest up to £100 at the highest, which should suit most. The volatility is in the medium range, so wins should occur fairly often, approximately in 1 out of 5 spins in accordance with the 19.24% hit rate. Yet, don’t expect to these wins to be too big since the top prize is capped at 1,080x the stake. As for RTP, four different settings are available, all being lower than the average level. The highest is 95.37%, but you can get payback as low as 85.38%.
Big Max Pots and Pearls Slot Features
In addition to the regular symbols, Big Max Pots and Pearls offer a range of special symbols that bring extra payouts during the gameplay. Traditionally, there are Wild symbols that stand in for any of the regulars in winning combos. To produce bigger winning opportunities, they expand to cover the reels entirely whenever a win is possible.
Next are fire symbols, which are Scatters. They can appear on any of the reels, and when 3, 4, or 5 appear simultaneously, players receive an additional fixed cash prize of 3x, 10x, or 150x the bet.
Diamonds are bonus symbols. Landing 3 anywhere in view triggers the Mystery Bonus feature. Diamonds turn into pick symbols, and players need to select one to reveal their cash reward, which can be either 30x, 60x, or 100x the bet.
The most desired out of all are Pearl symbols, which land with random cash values from 1x to 30x the bet attached to them. When 6 or more land on the reels during the base game, players proceed to the Feature Games.
In the bonus, all Pearls are sticky. Upon the start, the triggering symbols lock in place, and players proceed to special reels where only Pearls are available with 3 respins to start with. If a new Pearl appears, the respins tally is reset back to 3.
There are 4 Special Pearls as well, which display Minor, Major, Maxi, and Mega jackpots, worth 5x, 25x, 250x, and 500x the bet respectively. However, the Mega jackpot can be won only if 3 Mega Pearls appear. At the end of the bonus, non-winning Mega Pearls transform into cash values of 25x or 30x the bet.
The feature ends when the player runs out of respins or the entire reels are filled with cash and jackpot symbols. If all positions are filled, all values in view except for the Maxi and Mega jackpots will be multiplied by 2x.
Last but not least is the Gamble feature, offered after any win you achieve. The point is to guess the color of the next drawn card. Guess correctly, win will be doubled. You can gamble up to 10 times per feature, or until the gamble win limit is reached.
Review Summary
Looking like a typical fruit slot on the surface, Big Max Pots and Pearls has a lot more for players to offer. There are plenty of features that won’t let you have a dull moment during the session, and the popular jackpot feature is bound to be enjoyed. On the other hand, though, the retro theme won’t appeal to everyone, much like the RTP ranges and poor max win, so it’s mostly designed for the classic-loving audience.
| Pros | Cons |
