Coins can activate the Hold & Win minigame on any collection, and the type of Coins determines the active features. Area Link starts with 3 respins and each new Coin landing will reset the counter. Coins stuck on their positions and their values can be affected by the active upgrades. If you fill out the entire grid, the Grand Jackpot will be added to the total sum of all rewards.

Purple Piggy Bank Upgrade
Double Array adds a second 5x3 Area Link grid to the game. Both act absolutely independently, with 3 respins counting individually. Red Piggy Bank Upgrade

Theme & Graphics
Area Link Bank Blast utilities a Treasures theme with a massive pile of gold coins in the background, very similar to the Piggy Bank release. Graphics and animation effects are slightly improved here, which is understandable given the 18-month gap between the two titles. The audio package is also identical and rather generic.
The luxurious green backdrop above the shimmering gold coins changes to purple during the Area Link bonus spins. That's pretty much everything you can expect from a visual point of view, but fans of the genre hardly expected otherwise. Area Link Bank Blast is fully compatible with Android and iOS mobiles. Jackpots on the grid's left and control tools are moved below the active zone in portrait mode.

Our Verdict
Area Link Bank Blast is more or less what I was expecting, but this type of slot is not crafted to bring innovation. On the contrary, they are designed to cater to players with certain tastes, loyal to the genre. The only new element is the Blast Upgrade, which has a certain potential.
Area Vegas is the first Games Global studio to decide and add a 4th feature to its Hold & Win bonus. That mixes the whole action up, but sadly, the provider has decided to level the scales. All Area Link slots built by the studio with 3 features have Major Jackpots of 500x, while those with 4 features provide the same rewards but with values of 100x the bet.
That may sound insignificant, but it decreases the payout potential in the long run. If you like this category but don't feel convinced by Area Link Bank Blast, I have a couple of alternatives in mind. Squealin Riches is the older one, released by PearFiction in 2021.
The game hosts 3 bonus minigames, including the Lock’N’Win with random power up symbols. The grid is larger and more advanced, and the max win is lifted to 13,500x the stake. My second suggestion is 333 Boom Banks POWER COMBO, launched in 2024 by Fortune Factor Studios.
It's a medium-volatile slot challenge with Mystery Symbols, Free Spins, 6 jackpots, and the Power Combo bonus. There are only 3 features in the core bonus here, but the Grand Jackpot is 12,500x, and the overall experience is far more spectacular. Then again, both slots require a different taste, while Area Link Bank Blast is simpler, and there it takes ground!
