Alchemist Stone Review
Alchemist Stone offers a unique gaming experience. The slot features eye-catching visuals and exciting features to produce engaging gameplay.
With alchemy being a popular topic, it's no surprise that it has been used as a source of inspiration for games. Let's see what this slot offers and if it stands out.
Alchemist Stone - Outlook
The title Alchemist Stone, refers to a notable element of ancient alchemy. Players aim to discover the legendary alchemical substance to obtain riches.
Loading the game takes you to a chamber filled with books, and a rug that looks like a portal. The soundtrack captures the vibe and fits the gameplay. It adds a final touch to the atmosphere and becomes suspenseful when you hit bonus features.
The symbols that land onto the grid are 10 regulars split into highs and lows. The pay symbols start at the low end with heave stone blocks with runes. Following the low pays are a bunch of premiums represented by five gems. Helping you to form winning combinations is the Wild symbol, which can appear on any position of the grid except for the reel 1. Landing a full combo of low-value symbols will award 2x of the bet, while high-paying ones are worth from 3.33x to 6x of the bet.
The action is played across a 6-reel 3-row grid with 25 ways to play, so you'll require 6 instances of the same symbol on a payline to achieve a full combo. Alchemist Stone is powered by a high volatile math model, so landing wins may demand some patience. Luckily, there's a helping with the hit rate of 30.86% and the RTP of 96.23%. Playable from 0.75$ to 120$ per spin, the slot offers a top prize on a single spin when playing with the max bet option available, which is 1,833 times the bet.
Alchemist Stone - Bonus Features
Instead of taking a common approach, Alchemist Stone includes interesting novelties. Here players will benefit from Respins, Titan Blocks, Expanding Reels with Multipliers, and Nudges.
Alchemist Stone focuses on Respins, but the way you trigger them is different. Whenever a winning combination lands, a token may be added to the winning symbol on the leftmost reel to award a Respin. The rightmost reel will merge with the adjacent one to become a massive 2x3 reel. With every consecutive Respin, the reels on the right will gradually merge until forming a single 5x5 reel. The Respins will continue up to the moment when no new winning combos with tokens attached to the first symbol on a payline appear.
The alchemist stone symbol is the most desired here. It can only appear on the first reel, and landing one will trigger the Respins with Expanding Reels. The feature can also be triggered on a non-winning spin when the alchemist stone symbol is partially visible. The reel will try to nudge up or down to reveal it, though, it doesn't always succeed. Once the bonus is activated, the reel set will expand to become a 6x5 grid, and Titan Blocks, as well as progressive Multiplier, will accompany you. With each consecutive win, the total Multiplier will grow by 1x with the cap at 5x, though, non-winning spins or token-less wins will reset the grid and Multipliers, and players will return back to the base game.
Alchemist Stone - 200 Spins Experience
Testing the game was a fun experience. It's necessary to mention that we did our test before the actual release, so it's likely that our experience of the demo version may vary from what you could possibly get after Alchemist Stone will be released.
The first thing that really blew us away is that the Respins triggered almost every winning combination we landed. The token seemed to appear approx 8 out of 10 times, though, it rarely took us to 5x5 blocks. However, landing a single win appeared to be a much more challenging task than triggering the Respins feature since the hit rate, even though being claimed to be over 30%, had been literally poor. We really struggled to get returns and were landing series of dead spins one after another. Anyway, a couple of highlights showed up, and the most notable was the 28x win. Not to say that it's a deal-breaking amount worth spinning the slot for 200 times, though, we had some great wins of 15x+ appearing every 30 spins.
Within the 200 spins, the alchemist stone appeared like 5 times, though, neither it managed to stay alive for more than 2 Respins nor brought us any massive payouts. Even though the session ended up with a nonsignificant loss, it was worth the emotions and fun we had throughout it.
Alchemist Stone - Verdict
Alchemist Stone is a skillful mix of familiar features with the newborn inventions produces unique gameplay.
The maximum potential could be better. All you can hope for is only 1,833 times the stake, which is obviously not what you expect from a high volatile slot to boast. It could have been justified if only the features brought decent wins, though, they do not. It will require quite a lot of spinning here to claim any big prizes, and unlikely a lot of players have such a luxury for sure.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Unique gameplay | Limited maximum potential |
| Skillful mix of familiar and new features | Requires a lot of spins for big prizes |
