3 Lucky Gators Review
This slot drops you deep into the swamps of Louisiana in 3 Lucky Gators, a slot featuring a Cajun family and 3 hungry alligators perched above the 5x3 grid. You can choose bet sizes from €0.2 to €25 per spin, catering to a wide range of players. Winning combinations are formed by landing 3 to 5 matching symbols across up to 243 ways to win, which can expand to a maximum of 7,776 win ways via modifiers.
The game features a cast of quirky character symbols, including what appears to be a husband, wife, their 2 children, and a grandfather. These premium symbols offer payouts between 2x and 4x your stake for 5-of-a-kind, while the lower-paying royal symbols award between 0.6x and 0.8x for the same. With a hit frequency of 24.05 %, you can expect wins to manifest roughly every 4th spin on average.
A unique feature is the Topgraderz reel positioned above the main grid. This reel randomly awards modifiers for each spin, such as reel expansions, stacked wilds, cash symbol multipliers up to x100, or direct additions of up to +25x to cash symbol wins. Up to 2 Collector symbols can appear on the reels to gather these cash prizes, potentially leading to significant wins thanks to the Topgraderz boosts.
Pot symbols in 3 different colors are collected by the gators above the grid, potentially triggering the LockNWin Bonus with up to all 3 gators active. Collector and semi-sticky collector symbols can enhance wins, while the gator features can expand the grid, grant +1 extra life, or allow for jackpot wins up to the 10,000x max win. 3 Lucky Gators has a top-tier RTP of 96.01 % but also includes lower RTP settings, so checking this is important. The game is highly volatile, meaning you should expect significant fluctuations in your balance.
3 Lucky Gators Features
The special top reel delivers plenty of modifier action in 3 Lucky Gators slot, and these Topgraderz can affect both regular wins and cash collect wins. The LockNWin Bonus comes with 1 to 3 gator features, and below is a breakdown of the details.
Topgraderz
The Topgraderz top row spins together with the regular reels, landing blanks or special symbols known as Topgraderz. These work as follows:
- Split - expands the reel below with up to 3 extra symbols (and these extra positions are carried over into the LockNWin bonus if it’s triggered).
- Boost - adds +1x to +25x your stake to your cash symbol wins.
- Multiplier - boosts the value of a random cash symbol by x2 to x100.
- Wilds - appears above reels 2 to 5 and turns the reel below into a stacked wild.
- Sticky Wilds - same as Wilds, but remain in play for 2 to 3 spins.
- Collect - collects the value of all present cash symbols (appears only in the LockNWin bonus).
- Sticky Collect - does the same as the Collect symbol, but persistently for 2 to 3 rounds.
- Bonus - can be collected over multiple spins and trigger the LockNWin bonus with all 3 features when collected on all 5 reels.
Collect Feature
Cash symbols land with values of 1x to 100x your stake, and these are collected and awarded if you also land a Collect symbol on reels 1 and/or 5. The cash symbols are collected twice if you land 2 Collect symbols on the same spin.
LockNWin Feature
Pot symbols are collected by the gator with the corresponding color sitting atop the grid, and collecting one or more may trigger the LockNWin Bonus at random times. The feature plays out on a cleared grid where cash and jackpot symbols become sticky, resetting the respins tally to 3 each time. The bonus ends when you land 3 consecutive blanks-only spins, or when you fill the grid with winning symbols.
The bonus round feature or features you get correspond to the triggering Pot symbol or symbols, and it’s possible to get all 3 upgrades in the same LockNWin bonus. They work as follows:
- MaxSplits (green Pot symbol) - expands all 5 reels with 3 extra symbols.
- Jackpots (purple Pot symbol) - collect 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 micro, mini, minor, major, or mega jackpot symbols, respectively, to win the corresponding prize of 10x, 20x, 100x, 500x, or 10,000x your stake. Multiple jackpots can be won unless you win the Mega jackpot.
- 4 Lives (red Pot symbol) - makes your respin tally reset to 4 instead of 3 when a new cash or jackpot symbol lands.
Theme & Graphics
3 Lucky Gators plays out in Cajun territory, with the reels placed against a swamp backdrop and featuring 3 alligators sitting comfortably atop the grid. As the gators gobble up Pot symbols, they grow in size, signaling the approaching LockNWin bonus. The reels are filled with Bayou dweller family members, and the cartoonish caricature visuals add to the lighthearted and fun atmosphere of this game.

Our Verdict
3 Lucky Gators game marks another installment in the LockNWin series. As expected, they've stuck with their signature cartoonish style, this time featuring a quirky Cajun family who probably have gator gumbo running through their veins. While I appreciate the attempt at a unique theme, the visual style is a bit much for me. It's like they threw every color in the rainbow at the screen and cranked up the saturation. I prefer something a bit more subtle and nuanced.
Gameplay-wise, 3 Lucky Gators feels pretty familiar if you've played any of their previous games. They have, however, doubled the max win potential to a more solid 10,000x your stake, which is a definite plus. However, aside from the bayou setting and the amped-up max win, there isn't much here that sets this game apart.
I have to admit that I’m also not a huge fan of this bonus round concept, where you never really know what you get. The problem is that it feels like a letdown unless you get all 3 features active, which rarely happens. Most of the time, you're stuck with a less exciting version of the bonus, and less lucrative as well. It's a bit like anticipating a fully loaded pizza and getting one with just cheese most of the time.
Overall, 3 Lucky Gators isn't a bad game as such, but it simply doesn't do it for me. As you may have gathered, I'm not the biggest fan, but I'm sure some players out there enjoy their distinct “in-your-face” style. That being said, the increased 10,000x potential and the somewhat charming (if a bit loud) Cajun theme make it one of the better entries in the LockNWin series thus far. Needless to say, if you're a fan of their previous games, you'll probably enjoy this one too.
