100 Zombies Review

There is very little that makes 100 Zombies stand out. Visually, the game is average and kind of lacking in excitement, and the only thing that sticks out in a positive way is the guitar-picking soundtrack. The high max bet seems misplaced, as we hardly think high rollers will prefer a game with such a mediocre potential.

If you’re going to make a zombie game in this day and age, at least try to make it original in some way. This is a run-of-the-mill shelf filler with standard features we’ve seen hundreds of times before. In fact, there seems to be a thing about zombie games and stacked wilds. The math model does nothing to create enthusiasm either, and we hardly think this one will survive.

100 Zombies Features

This game is quite simple when it comes to bonus features, and it’s all about those stacked wilds. In the base game you can land stacked wilds on all 5 reels, and the symbol is hard to miss with its distinct fever-yellow color and the word “wild” written in blood.

The wilds will step in for all regular symbols to help you form winning combos, and it’s also the highest paying symbol in its own right. You win 10x your stake when you land 5 wilds in a winning combo, but since they usually land stacked you can expect a lot higher payouts if you get a stack on each reel.

The scatter symbol comes with the same yellow color, and it’s marked by a bio-hazard sign and has the word “scatter” written in bold green type in front. Again, hard to miss, and you need to land 3 scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4 on the same spin to trigger the free spins bonus round. You get 10 free spins this way, and you will benefit from plenty of stacked wilds during the feature. You can also retrigger the bonus round by landing 3 new scatters.

Finally, you have the gamble feature. If you choose to gamble your winnings you also risk losing everything, which is good to keep in mind. A random card will be chosen, and you will then pick 1 of 4 face-down cards. You win by getting a card with higher value than the “dealer's” card, and this doubles your payout.

100 Zombies comes with a surprisingly solid soundtrack, but in terms of features and gameplay there is nothing new to see here. The reels are filled with semi-scary zombies, and some survivors who’ve taken up arms against them. Everything revolves around the stacked wilds, which you get more of during the bonus round.

You can win up to 1,000x per spin by filling the screen with nothing but wild stacks. To reach the max win potential of 10,000x however, you have to do this on every single free spin. This is as likely as surviving a real zombie apocalypse, and something to keep in mind if you’re considering giving this one a try.
